I want to find some way to run this but here is my idea feel free to help improve it.
You'll need at least 4 players for this.
Each skylander has a point value. 1 point per core level. 1 point per challenges. 1 point per online level. so if you skylander is 10 all around he would be worth 30 points.
Set amount of points and figure limit example :100 points 2 figures min 5 max.
Round is over when Time is up or when someone runs out of skylanders. If round ends on time its a draw. Other wise victor is last man standing.
Points are gained when you take down a skylander. A skylander that has a 30 point value you gain 30 points.
Round points are predetermined based on the set amount 100 point tournament you may want to make a round worth 80-120 points
Draws will be worth half round victory points. example 100 point game would be 40-60 points.
Match making is based on points earned as well as people played.
If you are running a league or a season of skylanders battle mode. Set a point value for getting first places. Example 100 point tournament with 8 players 1st gets 800 2nd 600 3rd 400 and so on.

Hmmm interesting idea. ^
Too bad I don't even know one other person around me that plays the game. My husband plays with me but would never care about it enough to seriously play pvp. |

Too bad the current version did not include an online PVP mode. This would have allow game sites to hosts their own mini battle mode tournaments. Im hoping this is a feature that will be added in a future version of this game.

I know this is very unlikely, but does anyone here live close to each other? I live in MA, USA.
I play the Pokemon video game competitively actually. I have been to a few live tournaments and they have been really fun. I doubt skylanders will ever host large events for local play like Pokemon does. |

Skylanders is basically a pandora's box for Activision. Im sure they know how well received the game is and if managed carefully then Im pretty sure they can take it as far as having tournaments. I do hope the online PVP mode is on the top of their to-do list. It will surely give the game a huge amount of replay value. Every player will probably work on their favorite figures to get as much advantage as they against their opponents.

Tournament idea sounds nice, fairly well thought out. Definitely think online pvp needs to happen. Upon beating the game I've had almost no desire to go buy more Skylanders/max out the ones that I do have. You can bet I'd be out buying and maxing every Skylander if there was online pvp.

Another idea for a tournament is time trials.
The heroic challenges all show a countdown timer. You can have a tournament or contest to see who can be the fastest in the heroic challenges. The more time left the better of winning the contest. This will not only give the players a chance to show their skillz (133t!) but also show the advantages and disadvantages of each different figures and styles of play. How it is played: - Each contestant is given a submission date to post a youtube video of their challenge run. - Each contestant submits their "best shot" at the challenge. One entry per contestant. - The video must be clear and no excuses for phone camera videos that almost impossible to figure out what is going on. No blurrycam! - A panel of judges will check the validity of the time left. - The contest with the highest time wins.
