Let's see...
Target - I have like, what? Three Targets in my vicinity? One of them used to have TWO sections for Skylanders. The first one was for Whirlwind only plus the games. There were only two Whirlwinds left, and I got the last one Later on, I believe that same stand was taken down for some Kinect games, but the Skylanders games remained hidden in the bottom. The last one has the standard set-up, 'cept with no more single figures.
Best Buy - I call bull on BB Their display is located waaay at the back of their video game section. They nearly had all of the toys with them, which is where I picked up my Sonic Boom.
GameStop - One of them had a small stand right next to Skyward Sword, of all things. They nearly have all of the Wave 2 figures, and small boxes just like those in Costco. Which is odd since they used to just have the PS3 copy on the counter.
Toys R Us - I have the Express one since my nearest Toys R Us is 46 minutes from me They barely sold anything, though...
So, let's hear your Skylanders stories

Asda - It's just a two minute walk from my house. Although you can only get the starter packs and Drill Sergeant.
GAME - Located in the city centre, 30 minutes away from my house. It has almost every non-exclusive Skylander that's available in the UK so far and that is where I got them all. Toys R Us - There is one in my home city but I haven't been there in a while so I don't know how much Skylanders stuff they sell. Gamestation - At first, they had quite a few Skylanders figures but now they're out of stock. That's also the place where you can get the Volcanic Vault with the starter pack. Unfortunately, all they care about now is CoD. |

Target - I have 3 Targets within driving vicinity, but the biggest one has a dedicated display for Skylanders complete with a demo portal that shows the mini movie for each figure you put on it; had a decent amount of figures and game packs.
Walmart - Only 1 within vicinity it is non-existent; game packs were distributed based on platform, no figures anywhere. ToysRUs - Only 1 within vicinity but it is a big one. Two displays one right up front with plenty of figures and game packs and another display with portal at the video games section. Figures are starting to not be diverse; i.e., only legendary packs and figures of the same type, so I'm guessing it's selling well. Gamestop - 3 within vicinity but I only checked one, they only had the game packs. So I would say well represented for a game that did not publicize (at least in areas I frequent online, TV, or otherwise). I do expect these to become scarce closer to Christmas.

Best Buy (today): 1 single character pack left (Voodood), 2 triple character packs, 5 pirate ships as well as a couple of 3DS starter packs, 2 360 starter packs and 6 or so Wii starter packs.
Target near work (last night): Lots of Voodoods, 1 Prism Break and a couple of three packs (surprisingly enough, they were the new ones with Hex, Wrecking Ball, etc). No pirate ships, no Whirlwind. Target near home (last night): A bit of everything, but no Whirlwinds. Walmart (last Friday): A bit of everything, no pirate ships, no Drill Sargents. Haven't been to TRU this past week. A week ago though, they had everything. Walmart had everything, and Target still had 4 or 5 Whirlwinds out with everything else. I get the impression that the figures and adventure packs are selling quite well. |

As far as I know, my local GameStop only sells Starter Packs.
Argos and Smyth's sell more, with Skylanders having it's own page in the catalogs for both shops.

Stavanger, Norway:
Elkjøp: All Whirlwind figurines are gone. A few adventure packs, very few single character packs and starter packs and a huge number of triple character packs. GAME: A slightly bigger selection, though the most popular figurines have been snatched away here as well. Plenty of the starter packs and adventure packs. GameStop: Only a few Drill Sergeants and Voodoods left last I checked, along with some starter packs and the Darklight Crypt. Spaceworld: A few left of nearly all wave 1 single character packs, triple character packs and starter packs. Not many adventure packs. Toys"R"Us: Not much left apart from starter packs and the Legendary triple pack (I guess people don't like recolours over here... oh well, made it easier for me to get them). I think that's all the stores 'round here with Skylanders products to sell. Those are the ones I've seen so far, anyways. ...Also, I've yet to see any wave 2 products. >: But yeah, it seems like it's selling fairly well - most stores say they've been surprised at how popular the game and figurines are. |

Walmart - 2 near me, one with with a few including wave two and the other with nothing. There is also another 40 minutes away that has a huge amount of wave two and even the other hard to get figures. Drill Sargent used to be hard to find but now they are everywhere!
Target - 1 near me, and tends to be the best stocked for close stores. Whirlwind is always there too. Game Stop - 2 near me, both with hardly anything. They had some good selection when the game first came out but it looks like they have never updated their stock since then. Best Buy - 1 near me and mostly has starter packs and singles. NO adventure packs or three packs. Since I bought the starter there I didn't even know three packs existed for a while. Toys R' Us - 0 near me, so I ended up driving 40 min to this other one to get dark crypt. It has no wave two but probably the best selection of skylanders around! It has a huge display in the electronics section and a small display at the entrance. You can find every single set there along with the carrying cases and strategy guide. I wish it wasn't so far away... |

Target: Haven't seen anything in Target.
Gamestop: Two small shelve thingys in the store. One for the game, and one for the toys. Large amounts of Eruptor and the PC version of the game. Only one PS3 version, and absolutely no Wii or 3DS versions. Toysrus: LARGE section including a demo of the game in one store. Very small section in the store in Times Square. Both had large amounts of Voodood and the Legendary 3-pack. Best Buy: Moderate size section with the standard toys. Sonic Boom is the only one missing. |

This was before most stores restocked today for Black Friday...
Walmart: Usually have 4-6 random characters, usually an overage of Drill Sergeants and Boomers. Tons of Pirate Seas packs. Target: Very few characters; a nice display for the game but not much actually for sale. Whirlwind is pretty much always gone. A few pirate seas were here as well. Toys'R'Us: Literally every single pack character pack was gone. Only thing available were wave 1 3-packs or the adventure packs. TONS of room in the store for these toys. There was a display when you first walked in, a display in the video game section and even an endcap at the action figure aisle. For this much space it was scary that literally every figure was gone. EDIT: Also, there was still a bunch of legendary 3 packs, at least 10 of them. Gamestop: Had two characters left and one Pirate Seas. Two figures were Eruptor and Stealth Elf. Personally: I am a 24 year old so my age range is really the target audience for this game. I hear a lot of people talking about their child/nephew/niece playing this game but you wonder if they are secretly playing it too The figures are constantly gone or near empty at every nearby store. Most people I talk to know what the game is even if they dont play; they usually also agree that the figures look amazing. The general perception of this game is very positive (besides the whole "You have to buy figures to play the whole game!?!" crowd) and it's obvious the game is doing quite well in the Northern Virginia area. Stores cant keep up, Walmart had put up a whole new set of stock today and by the time I got there at 2pm (thanksgiving day not black friday) there was 2 wrecking balls, 1 dino-rang, and 1 zap at the store. I'm glad this game is doing so well. Many games will empty your pocket but most don't give you a cool figurine to show for it!

Toyrus.com is pretty much sold out except for the pirate seas and the darklight crypt pack and the starters. I am going this morning to check out how well this game is doing. The buy 1 get 1 free is an amazing deal. I might be stocking up some figures that I will keep sealed and for collection. The curious thing about it is how in-demand the last wave of characters and adventure packs will be. Im pretty sure those who will end up playing it will get the itch to get the rest of the figures.
