i see there is some confusion going on at the forum of what you need and what is out there. so here is my simple explanation....


what you need to complete skylanders 100% or 110%.......

you need one of each elements. 3 is included with the game pack, then you need 5 more... now you get access to all areas and can collect all the hats, legendary treasure,scrolls and soul gems... you can complete the game 100% and trophies as it is...


then you have the extras... the 110% completion...

1) four levels that are sold as adventure packs... (with these there is 26 levels total)..

a) pirate seas, includes:

terrafin (element earth, figurine not sold separately)
pirate ship (unlock extra level and blast cannon balls when but on portal)
dragon treasure chest (6 hidden extra treasures to be found in all 26 levels)
ghosts swords (helps out with fighting)

b) darklight crypt, includes:

ghost roaster (element undead, figurine not sold separately)
crypt (unlock extra level)
time twister (slow down timer and level)
healing elixir (fill your health)

c) dragons Peak, includes: (not yet sold)

sunburn (element fire, figurine not sold separately)
......
winged boots
sparx dragonfly

d) empire of ice, includes: (not yet sold)

slam bam (element water, figurine not sold separately)
......
......
......

2) the rest of the figurines (32 total, not all released yet), each have its own heroic challenges that upgrade your powers further after level10 and bought upgrades. (if your building your favorite character powers, and dont want them all. you need to decide what upgrade you think is best for your character)

3) bowler hat (you need to play the pc version to get this, will not be saved to your hat collection only to your figurine)

4) legendary figurines sold at toy'r us, comes with better stats and different colors. these figurines will be the most powerful when fully upgraded (bash,chop chop,spyro and there is also rumored there will be a trigger happy)

5) dark spyro (exclusive for the 3ds, no extra only different name and color)

6) volcanic vault (exclusive at best buy, unlock extra level in pvp battle mode)

7) silvers version (no extras only colored silver. so far released boomer,eruptor,dino rang)

8) silver faced ignitor (no extras, most likely a factory paint error)

9) tower case and zip case (to put your figurines in)

10) official strategy guide (everything you need to know about skylanders spyros adventure game)

Just to say, you don't need a Skylander of each element to earn all the achievements/trophies.

and there isnt 32 skylanders if you cound the legendary and dark spyro

you need 32 characters to complete every heroic challenge, not necessarily all 37 figures. However, you'll obviously need 37 if you want to collect them all. Also, I think the last XP Bonus available is for having all 32 characters, but it counts how many different figures you have, not necessarily how many different characters you have. So if you can't get Drill Sergent for whatever reason, you could make up for it with a legendary character, even if you already have the regular version of the legendary. You just wont be able to unlock Drill's heroic challenge.
