Just curious, but what Skylander figures do you see the most of in stores?
After checking out several different stores, I saw a huge amount of Boomer and - Surprisingly, Drobot left over. Quite a few Voodood were there too.

Voodood Stump Smash Either they're the only ones in GameStop, or total overstock in Target.

My local WalMart has quite a few Drill Sergeant, Boomer and Eruptor. No more than one of anything else.

Boomer, Eruptor, and drobot are everywhere! Also exclusives are very abundant at my Walmart and Target.
Not as much chop chop, sonic boom, stump smash, or voodood but there is usually at least one. Very hard to find all the others. |

Hm... Haven't been to the store to get some Skylanders lately...
When I did go there, I remember there being lots of Boomers and Prism Breaks, I think. There were a few Eruptors, too, and in Target there were lots of Whirlwinds (but there were a lot gone, they just had tons before anyone bought them). Last, I think Stump Smash wasn't that popular, either.

Yes, Boomer and Eruptor rule the pegs. The case assortment for the new wave is worrisome; the fact they're shortpacking the wave 2 guys just to fill out the case with more wave 1s makes it seem like stores will be cluttered up with wave 1s for a long time. Happens to a lot of toylines unfortunately.

Maybe the silver Boomer and Eruptors were a way to hype characters that don't seem to move as fast.

Boomer and Eruptor own Walmart's display, but now they have a peg of Drill Sergent(with walmart exclusive label).
TRU is still well-stocked with at least one of everyone in wave 1 but they seem to have more Chop Chops and Voodudes.

I usually get them from Target and I see mostly Bashes, Boomers. I still see some Whirlwinds, though.
Funny how people are seeing a lot of Eruptors. He's pretty cool IMO and should be in demand.

It seems like everywhere I go, there are always tons on Pirate Seas Adventure Packs. The local Gamestop carries about five of them every time I visit but they rarely have any figures left. If any figures are left it's usually only one Chop Chop or Eruptor.

I have noticed that too - I perceive that the general populace is reticient to pay for a larger pack and not get 3 figurines? The don't see the expansion level as the same value for money as 2 chars?

It varies... This morning at Walmart I saw no Drill Sergeants, they had one Wrecking Ball and several single packs of the characters available in triple packs. They had one Pirate ship, and were out of triple packs.
Still, the display was decently full because of the single packs. At Target last night, still no wave 2 figures spotted. They had lots of Pirate ships and a couple of triple packs. They had a couple of Whirlwinds, but not as many as they had a couple of days ago (when half the display was Whirlwinds). Generally, the characters I see the most of (single packs) tend to be Bash, Eruptor, Prism Break, Boomer, Stump Smash, etc. Anything that's available in triple packs and isn't as 'cute', for lack of a better word. Dragons and cute characters have more visual appeal for both sexes, and will thus sell a little better as the eyes of both kids and parents are drawn to them. But that's just a theory of course . But both my kids, when they got to pick a Skylander, wanted Whirlwind as their first choice at the Target display earlier this week. I'm just going around every day (or every other day) to see if I can find a silver Skylander. I'm glad to see that the product is moving though and seems to be selling quite well as the selection of figures/packs changes quite a bit every time I check it. Haven't checked Best Buy all that much though since it's a little out of the way. |

Fun fact: According to the president of Toys for Bob, Whirlwind is the best-selling Skylander. Even with the added barrier of being Target-exclusive.

All stores that sell this game I see Pirate Seas, Boomer and Stump Smash. Zap is nearly sold everywhere. It took much time to find one.

My Toysrus always has a ton of the legendary 3 pack and the pirate expansion. The Gamestop I went to said they had a bunch of the 3 character packs, but they weren't stocked on the floor so you would have to ask them for it. They only had one on display behind the counter and the single character packs were hidden, you had to ask them specifically to see it which I thought was a bit odd.

lol the limited editions (silvers) would be cooler if they just sprayed on some glue and dipped the figures in sprinkles
I confess I love whirlwind because of the puking rainbows (ok i know it comes out of her horn but it looks like she's puking the rainbows)... I did see a bunch restocked at my local target, the first time I went they had sold out.

When me and my mom went to Wal-Mart to go buy Skyrim, we came across a very..very small Skyanders part, it was overstocked with Drill-sergant. There was a few Boomers but nothing else....

TRU is listing some single figures are now out of stock online because of the 2 for $10 Promo. I wonder if it was limited for the promo duration only or TRU is truly out of stock for their online inventory. In any case this should be a good sign for the game. I don't think we have an overstock but it could be that Activision pushed enough stock on the retailers to allow the wave 1 and wave 2 stock to be adequate enough by the time both waves are on the shelves. We could see a possibility that the wave 1 becoming more rare as we near the wave 2 date which is around the first week of December.
Im really curious how Activision is going to manage the release of the entire product line. I'd hate to see Skylanders have "the toy urban legends of christmas" which are items that are expected to be released but never show up or make it to the shelves. Retailers after christmas simply stop ordering because inventory season starts at the beginning of the year. Btw I see no point to not release the entire set by Christmas. Selling these figures after the holidays is a big no-no for any manufacturer.

I still think not everything will be released right away because I think morebpeople will get them afte they are waiting on anticipations or a few months. The more I think about it, they will probably release half and one of the wintery adventure packs. I really just want them all at once though.

I went to Toys'R'Us today and they had three sections in their store for skylanders. They were COMPLETELY out of single character packs. Like, there wasnt a single figure in the whole store. When I asked about it they said they had literally sold every figure they had in stock. I think this bodes well for the whole set of figures getting released and it even shows lots of promise for there being a sequel. A game like Call of Duty, they make money off people buying the game and if they're lucky, maybe a downloadable content map pack. This game they make money off the game itself and then TONS more money off all the figures people are buying. If the average person just buys one of each element and one adventure pack, thats $84 dollars more they make after the sell of the game itself! Don't know why they wouldn't release a sequel with them making that much revenue.
