there is different heroic challenges for each character(32 i guess), that upgrade your character further(only upgrade left after maxed level and path). i want to tailor my character in a specific the direction...

a over view of all the challenges and what upgrade they do would be nice, this can also help me determine what figurine i am going to buy next...

so is there any info somewhere about the different challenges?, i have looked but no luck finding it...

Well I have all the characters challenges in my strategy guide and I will post this with the info I have gathered from playing.
I have beaten all the challenges that are out (23) with 8 skylanders that I use as my team:
stealth elf, sonic boom, hex, flameslinger, prisim break, dark spyro, and drobot.

edit:
All challenges give you different amounts in each stat, even though each stat will always be the same amount. If you get speed for example you will always get +8 and if you get armor it will always be +3.

Armor +3, Critial Hit +5, Speed +8, Elemental Power +9
*=This challenge has a difficulty warning

+Armor Skylanders:
-Ghost Roaster
-Lightning Rod
-Hex
-DinoRang
-Stump Smash
-Drobot*
-Sunburn
-Voodood
-Camo
-Gill Grunt
-Zap*

+Critical Hit Skylanders
-Spyro
-Prisim Break
-Bash
-Cynder
-Sonic Boom
-Terrafin
-Whirlwind
-Wham-shell
-Zook
-Boomer

+Speed Skylanders
-Wrecking Ball
-Ignitor
-Trigger Happy
-Double Trouble
-Stealth Elf*

+Elemental Power Skylanders
-Warnado
-Chop Chop
-Eruptor
-Flameslinger
-Drill Sergeant
-Slam Bam

The above info is all gathered from the bradygame strategy guide. As you may have noticed, some stats have much less characters than others, however every challenge for those skylanders gives you more at the end. They are still not even though. If you complete all challenges here are the added stats you should receive:
+33 Armor
+50 Critical Hit
+40 Speed
+54 Elemental Power

Thanks Littlerain, that's some very helpful information!

I find it a little bit odd that some stats are completely left out (as with the hats). You can't do anything to upgrade your attack or your health, so some figures have a huge advantage overall. Take Trigger Happy for example: he's got a 100 health rating but only a 20 defense rating. While there's nothing anyone can do to get more hit points, TH can easily improve himself on defense with more armor. The same can be said for all of the super slow characters that are inherently better at other things.

This is assuming I correctly understand how their four base stats on their cards work.

I think on the cards the fist is actually supposed to be elemental power. So there are 4 stats in the game you can improve, even though some characters hdve a higher base than otheres. Attack and hp depend on your level and can not really be upgraded otherwise

Edit:

Actually I think it is only HP and a little bit in each if the 4 others that goes up with level. 'attack' is really elemental power and the most significant way to upgrade how much damage you are doing seems to be through the fairy. Doing the challenges does seem to add on a little extra though.

Regarding the stats, has anyone experimented or analyzed how much the stats affect damage, chance to do critical damage, reduction of damage taken from monsters, etc?

Does the Brady guide happen to go into detail about the heroic challenges themselves? I'm hoping there's not another purple chompy type of level that's harder/impossible to do the more upgrades you have on some characters.

The Heroic Challenges section in the Brady Guide consists of a 2 page table that lists the number, name of the challenge, a one line description of the challenge, the time limit, the reward, which Skylander that gives it and a tiny little picture of the Skylander.

No tips, no maps of the area, no walkthrough of the map. Overall it's pretty much useless for the Heroic Challenges.

@kappapopm - Yeah, I understand the hats and so forth. I was simply pointing out that it seems that since some stats cannot be upgraded, the characters that are already high in those stats (at least hit points) have an advantage over the others.

@Littlerain - I can check the game again when I get home, but I was under the impression that "elemental attack" was in reference to the bonus they got when Eon said, "Skylanders of the X type are stronger here!" I would prefer it was just their attack power in general.

It's not that big of a deal overall, except that at our house we are spending quite a bit of time in player-vs-player mode. It's fun to deal out a few character cards and then only be allowed to choose from those... something along the lines of a Pokemon trainer.

^Yeah there is hardly anything.
I will say though that there are only two challenges that require precision wih your attacks: zap's and drobot's. They both have a warning so I assume there are no others like that because the remaining 9 do not have warnings. Stealth elf's also has a warning because of the mines. It. It really that hard though.

i have been doing stump smash heroic challenges today. so now only have one speed challenge left for this char(double trouble - speed heroic challenge), that will bring the speed to 91. to upgrade further we have the speed hat from sunburn adventure pack, that is 12 speed. this will give you a maxed smash stump at 103 speed...

but right now my stump smash is at 83 speed plus the 9 speed 'lil devil' hat and the total is 92 speed. the guy is really fast..

my spyro is at 90 speed right now, when maxed (double trouble - speed heroic challenge) that gives me 98 speed and with 12 speed hat, he will be at whooping 110 speed!!... i think this will be the fastest you get any char in skylanders...

looking forward to getting 'double trouble' and sunburn adventure pack... smilie
