Skylanders "Ownership"? You are the owner of this Skylander? [CLOSED]

I have not gotten my game yet, but I bought skylanders and played at a friends house.

When on the stat page for the characters, under Ownership, they say "You are already the owner of this skylander".

When I get my own copy of the game is there an option to switch that? I want my skylanders to show they belong to me!

When you use a Skylander on your own game, select the Ownership option and it'll ask if you want to be the owner of that Skylander.
