Elora the faun was last seen as a cameo at the end of Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (Oct. 23, 2000) for the PS1. In the ten years since, while many other beloved classic Spyro characters have reappeared in the franchise, she has not. Over the course of this decade, Elora has remained a fondly-remembered character within the Spyro fan community despite her absence in the series proper. We would like to see this spunky, helpful, unique character return in future games and are doing what we can as fans to make it happen. If you would like to support our cause, please see below for more information.

Our Goal:
We want to see Elora the faun return to the Spyro franchise in any capacity, be it as a playable character, an NPC (non-player character), a cameo, or in any other form. Whether she appears in Skylanders, an expansion pack, in a future game, or just as advertising, we will be happy just to see our favorite faun back in action.

Our Plan:
After the release of Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure on October 16, Razz will gather together all of the artwork, comments, and anything else related positively to Elora and Skylanders. A physical package containing all of this material will be put together and sent to Toys for Bob and/or any member of the current Spyro production team who is interested along with a letter explaining our goal.

* draw fan art of Skylanders Elora or Elora having fun with her Skylanders friends
* leave a comment where Razz can see it about how you'd like to see Elora return to the franchise
* write a short letter about what it would mean to you to see Elora come back
* make a fan video about Elora and the Skylanders and post it to YouTube
* leave a suggestion for other ways people can contribute to this project
* post this entry or a link to it on your favorite forum or website where other Spyro fans gather
* vote in this poll

Thus far, this project has already gathered many wonderful pieces of art, positive feedback, and dozens of great comments. Thank you all for your help and support in this endeavor! Please keep spreading the word and we might see a much-missed face come back to the Spyro franchise!

Not to be rude, but you sound desperate for more Elora.

The wording is rather rude, yes. Most things prefaced with "not to be rude" usually are.

I wouldn't be Elora's biggest fan if I didn't want to see her come back. Most fans of anything just sit around and hope for the best. Why not be proactive? This isn't the first campaign of this kind to be undertaken by fans and it won't be the last. It just so happens that I decided to spearhead this project myself and see what happens. Whether anything ultimately comes of it in the end or not, I'm satisfied to have at least given it a shot.

If Elora does come back, of course I'll be ecstatic. But if she doesn't, it's not going to break my heart or anything. I'll just keep on doing what I do and being a fan in my free time.

I really do like Elora, but if this does work, I don't think she'll be coming back in this game. I think it may be a little too late since they've already released all 32 Skylanders.

They can always do 'expansion' packs or the like with Elora.

Now, I don't know much about Elora, but I honestly would like to see her appear in Skylanders somehow. I love Fauns... Thing is, I'm not sure how to contribute... I could try doing a Skylanders design of her, but I don't have a reference, and I'm not that great of an artist, either...

Well, considering how things have changed in the past 12 years, I'd say that if Elora came into a Spyro game, it would be quite disturbing or poorly done.

It'd be nice to see more recurring classic characters, but they might not even have the rights to her anymore.

Similar recurring characters like Moneybags and the Professor haven't been used since AHT either.

Could be cool to see her again. But there's other characters that we haven't seen from the Original series as well. If we could get any of them back, it would be nice.

But anyway, I think it's a bit too late to bring her in Skylanders, or maybe you were talking about if there's a Skylanders 2?

I can imagine her being an npc, probably as someone you rescue or someone who guides you through the Skylands.

I personally think that there is no point in bringing so many old characters into a spin-off game, for one, it's a spin-off, lol. And for the other, they would just change the character too much so it wouldn't be nostalgic in any way, it would probably be just like a LoS Hunter basically.

For the curious, this is Elora.

For the confused, this project may not get Elora into this game, but it could get her into a future adventure pack, in an Skylanders expansion, or into a sequel/future Spyro game. That's my hope for it, at least.

For the naysayers, apathy is a pretty gross habit, just saying. I'm trying something and your gloomy comments aren't going to stop me. Wasting your time putting them in here is, well, a waste of time. I've already gotten tons of positive response on other sites. This project may go nowhere or it might succeed. Either way, I'm doing more to be proactive in what happens to my favorite franchise (and character in it) than any other fans I've seen outside of folks like dark52.

For anyone who wants to contribute, you don't need to worry about drawing or writing anything detailed. I've been saving all the positive comments requesting Elora's return or expressing interest in it in a file with your usernames and the sites where the comments were made listed under what you said. That in itself will help this project along a great deal.

And thank you to everyone who's been positive or tentatively hopeful about this project.

I've lost hope for petitions.

They could make her a badass...or that one version of her I thought of for an LoS fanfic I never really started...

Hmmmmmm................. I think it would be cool to have Elora in Skylanders. If enough people requested it............... who knows? Maybe it'll work.

Um, no.

She's saying that despite what others may say, she's hopeful that what she and some fans contribute might get Elora noticed enough to get put into any future installments, whether as a playable character or an NPC.

And not once did she say that no one's opinion mattered, that's you.

This is more than a petition. If it were just a petition, I would have linked you to a useless site so you could sign a useless thing. Real media letters get more attention than digital stuff and it's worth my time to gather up some positive Elora art and messages to send to the Skylanders team. It beats sitting on my tail and whining on a forum they'll never see.

I'd almost forgotten about your contest. I am indeed now surely going to draw something (within the next couple of days) and see if that will help you any!

SonicBrawler: If you want to aid in the effort to bring Elora back, just leave a positive comment here about how much you like her or want to see her in future Spyro games. I've been saving all of the positive comments to print out and send with the final package.

I felt the same way you did, Bolt. It's kind of a spit in the face of older fans to only include Cynder, especially when her fans have behaved every bit as poorly as every other kind of Spyro fan about this. Even my husband, who is not interested in Skylanders at all (except Ghost Roaster and Hex ) thought it was unfair. And I would like to see more than just Elora come back, but I figured it would be best to start small and aim for what I want the most. Bianca and several other classic characters have made several appearances in other Spyro games, but Elora never came back after YotD and wasn't even mentioned at all except as a card in a little-known GBA game. Since I was already running a contest about her in Skylanders, it seemed like a good jumping off point for a project like this, too.

In that case:

I'd like to see Elora return in Skylanders, or a future game, because I think she was very underused in the Insomniac games, and she had a lot of potential. I think she could be given a fresh new feel and given more of a purpose in a game like Skylanders. My personal envisionment, is a character who uses a magical harp to cast debuffing spells on her foes, and even to aid allies.

Well, let me throw in my thoughts:

I've never played a single Insomniac Spyro game (never got the chance, though I try), but Elora struck me as a character with a lot of potential, and if there's absolutely one thing I can't stand, it's wasted potential. It saddened me to see that she hasn't appeared in another Spyro game since that trilogy (if she did, pardon my ignorance), as I'm sure it has those who have played the games and loved her.

As for Skylanders, I think this would be a great way to bring her back, since it seems to be a nice mix of Original and Legend Spyro.

And I love Fauns. Fauns are cool.

Even dispite this being more than a petition, I can't help but see it having the same impact as one. As much as I'd like to see Elora put into the game, I highly doubt it would happen any time soon, if at all. Cynder was probably put in since she was requested more than anyone else. If they were to go in order of how many requests a character gets, Hunter or Sparx would probably be next in line. Not nearly enough people want Elora in the game to have them take their time to develop her into the game, and still make it worthwhile in the end.

Cav, Cynder isn't in the game because anyone requested it. She's there because Mike Graham, one of her creators, is executive producer of Skylanders. And you'll not that most Cynder fans are having a hissy fit about her inclusion.

Mike Graham makes some bizarre decisions at times.

I know a couple of Cynder fans like myself who really didn't care if she was in it or not, when the news hit it was more of along the lines of "cool nice feature but i was already going to get this beforehand regardless".

Elora would be an amazing addition to this game. I'd love some classic characters to be in it. Elora has some great potential to be a worthy Skylander haha.

Some people are throwing a fit. But I'm honestly seeing more people happy about it.

@Bold: Wasn't this one of the biggest problems about Skylander haters? That they would want people not to use freedom of speech even though they can? That they want everyone else to shut up and keep to themselves? Don't I have the ability to speak my mind about this? To be a bit realistic? And don't I have the right to keep asking questions in this manner?

Like I said: For Elora to be in the game would be great. But I highly doubt it would ever happen, and this probably won't help. And by telling me that Cynder was in there for a different reason than request, that means they aren't listening to ANY requests, making Elora's possibility to be the game even lower than it was before.

You seem to be taking it serious enough to be upset about people having a different stance about this than you.

I ain't taking it serious at all. I'm treating it like one of those petitions that I see every other day. The kind that never work. And I was never really coming down on anyone either.

Also, what does this have to do with being fun and positive? This is an attempt to get someone in a video game.

And lastly, even without my depression, I'd still be saying the same things that I'm saying now, so that "cynical stage" line doesn't work on me................BUT that's just me speaking for myself.

Funny thing is, I'm always in a cynical stage of existance (making it more than just a stage), yet I seem to still be able to have a positive view on some things (but I can't be positive for no reason, only if there is something to actually make me positive about something). This is one such thing.
