That's really neat! I like the level background ambiance, too; it kind of reminds me of the Artisan homeworld. smilie

The characters are trapped in crystals, instead of toys in the 3DS version and there's a different evil in the game too.

Neat! Shame it's just for the 3DS (which I cannot physically play under any circumstance, let alone afford). Maybe in six years they'll make a 3DS XL and I can get it for that, assuming more than one decent game is made for the 3DS. smilie

looks cool. So was that Eon with the crystal? It kind of looked like a panda.

No, that wasn't Eon, spyrocrash. Eon is a human, a Portal Master. The one shown in the video is called Wendell, if you had listened carefully.

Hey, does anyone happen to know if there's going to be anything else Skylanders related at SDCC this weekend?

Who knows? Hopefully though.

I did a little bit of Googling with no luck. Well, hopefully if there is anything it won't be so cool that I'll have missed a chance to send someone on a scavenger hunt to get it for me. smilie

Also, since it's not linked anywhere else, the Kotaku article about the 3DS version has some more info, including something that vaguely implies that you might be able to get Dark Spyro individually.

"While Activision won't short-pack the characters, making some more rare than others, it will stage their release..."

It's not a guarantee, but it implies that they will be making all characters available singly. At least, that's how I read it. I hope that's true. I want re-painted Spyro, but I'm not spending $40+ just for him and a game I can't play.

I think we will have the ability to change the colors of the Skylanders (We saw Chop Chop having a yellow coloring scheme in one of the recent screenshots).

Not to be annoying or anything, but it sounds like a useless gimmick to me, even though I like the colour changing on Spyro 2 and 3, but I very rarely use those cheat codes, as they are not helpful really. Unless the colour changing in Skylanders does something weird and wonderful, then fair enough, lol. Also to make myself clear, I have not watched the video and do not intend to do so as I'm not that interested, I just looked here to see what was going on and decided to comment on that.

Actually, the color changing will make co-op play possible for this one, so it's already a lot more useful than the fun cheats from Spyro 2. And for those who prefer single player, color changing is still a fun way to personalize your character. If you had fun with the LoS dragon generators (which were literally just color changers for Spyro and Cynder), you'll likely have some fun with these options.

I don't see how it can really help for co-op when two or more people may decide to have the same colour as each other by mistake, I don't understand it really, it still sounds like a gimmick.

Actually, we don't really know how the changing the Skylanders' color will play out in the game. And also, the target audience will probably have a blast changing their character's color to customize them.

That's probably another reason why I'm not really interested in this game, because of the particular audience it is targeted at.

It still deeply amuses me that people who loved the older Spyro (which was also specifically targeted towards kids under 12) snub this game for it's demographic.

They decided that the dragon would be a character that appealed to 8 to 10 year olds.

It's a shame nobody who whines about the Skylanders demographic is ever going to let this tidbit about Spyro's original design sink in.

Yet Spyro's cute and cuddly design in the first three Spyro games is what most fans care about nowadays..

Hilarious that it's E10+ then. Of course, I think they nixed E.

Yeah... Hilarious... Except no one's gonna give a **** if a 6 year old buys an E10+/7+ rated game and it would be the parents who buy it for them in the first place so it's not like the rating is gonna make a difference.
