Seriously. All I see is hate, hate and more hate. D:
We need some people who like this far-too-underrated game. <3

I try to like it, but I can't seem too...
Though I like it in a sense that it is Spyro and I enjoyed it when I was younger. |

No, no it doesn't. This is an awful, horrible, terrible game. The voice acting is phoned in, the music is a bare shadow of Copeland's former glory, the gameplay is glitchy, the characters have been hit repeatedly with the ugly stick, it takes up almost an entire memory card by itself, it cheats you out of even finishing it if you don't have a supreme amount of tolerance... There's exactly one thing in this game I liked and I had to play that part until I hated it as much as everything else because of the crappy controls.
The only way I got through this pile of refuse that calls itself a game was by having my husband read me hilarious things off the Internet while I played. |

This game is not underrated.
-It said it would have 25 levels, it only had 10 - overhyping itself. -It was badly programmed. Glitchy as hell. -Even without the glitches, the level design is extremely bland. At least fighting had some challenge in those "endless corridors" of LoS. Can't say the same here... -Unexcusably long loading times on PS2, the more popular console for the game. -Bottom line: It suffers from a terrible case of sequelitus. I have no problem with people liking the game, but saying it is underrated is just factually wrong. It is clear it has plenty of reasons to be hated. Personally, I find it mediocre at best.

-Lack of stages.
-Ridiculous loading times. -Many glitches. -Poor graphics. Looks like something on the N64 rather than the PS2. -Lame voice acting from just about everyone. -Tedious platforming. -Poor story. -Poor level design. -Bad case of physics, partly because of the glitches. -Bad minigames. The game is anything but underrated. I've had the game for years, and it still stands as one of the few games I never finished. I would get nauseous every time I play it. That's pretty bad. |

I played it 100% through once and only once, just to say I'd done it (and because I like reading/playing things I hate sometimes ). I'll keep the game itself, but I have no intention of ever playing it again.

Yeah, that happened to me too. What happened was that the entire ground, walls, AND lava disappeared, so I had to slide on thin air.. I had to guess where the lava and walls were, and I ended up getting so frustrated, I just gave up on it lol.

I never played the game 100% since I would nearly get sick playing it. Then I don't play it for a while. Then when I do I forget where I was and I have to start over again. Rinse and repeat.

I'm with Darby here. In fact, the glitches were the least of my problems. I was most taken aback by how hideous everyone looked in the game. D:

I was most annoyed with the way they made his movement weird and how the level design was extremely bland. I know the original trilogy had a tendency for bland areas too, but here, it was unacceptable.
There were some serious glitches though...

I'll never forgive Cloudy Domain or whatever that level with the bears in the clouds was for giving me a wicked headache and making me physically ill at the same time.

I'm assuming it has something to do with the health conditions you have?
I never got anything like that. The only times I definitely get a headache are when I play handheld games on a moving vehicle, mainly car or bus, and it's not always guaranteed, but it's likely. I also get sick if I read for too long on moving vehicles.

I honestly hated their designs. I'm not going to say that's what made me hate the game though. If it's not okay with Skylanders it's probably not okay with this game. But just everything was out of whack. The voices didn't match up to the characters talking, barely any levels, already used story from the game before, horrible boss stage, and just.. a lot.

I didn't mind the lack of levels so much, as the levels were quite big. DotD has roughly the same amount of levels, and I love that, so it would be hypocritical for me to say that.

Yeah, it was Cloud 9.
SB: Nope, it has nothing to do with my vision. I actually have never had that problem with any other game outside of Season of Ice. There was something about the frame rate mixed with the colors that just made me really ill in that level, especially the flight part. Darby: At first, I was okay with the character designs, but the longer I played the more it all just started to add up. The ugly designs didn't stop me from playing, though, and I waited until I'd played the game personally before deciding I really didn't like it. |

Seriously. There are many things that could have improved the game, but I never understood why everyone hated it to a very high level. One of the main reasons were the long loading times, which I didn't mind so much.

You know the one thing I hate is the never out of beta look....it looks like insomniac worked on it (Actually they did only partially...they left the project afterwords...), the game sat around a while, they then RECENTLY picked it back up, scrapped the 25 levels idea, kept the bad rendering graphics which may have made the slowdowns, got stewart copeland too late when his work didn't sound the same, the voice actors sounded bad. (Except spyros...guess its cause its the last time the second classic spyro voice would be heard by us...), not to mention THE RED MIDGET WAS BROUGHT BACK, CRUSH AND GULPED TALKED (I cringed when I heard them talk...), and well....the game was still in beta when they put it out....in fact, the 4th time I started up I was only 25% done, but the final boss portal was open, and ironically, I didnt get a ending at all when I beat him, not the you havent gotten everything the end, it....just sent me back...
My opinion, they should have worked on it a longer time than they did. |

I like it mainly because it's the only game that insomniac didn't make that's close to the originals. I actually felt like I was playing an original Spyro game.
I like Spyro's character modal. I don't see what's wrong with it. There weren't that much glitches. I have the PS2 copy. Unless Platinum makes a difference. I got used to the glitchy areas to the point that they weren't a problem any more. The loading screens only take about 20 seconds in my game. The dragonflies are so kawaii. The frame rate is fine to me. Spyro walks around smoothly. The only real problem I have is the hovering. I dunno. Maybe I just have a good copy. :\ You know, sometimes I feel that if this game would have been finished, Spyro would be a little different today....
