But if you look, he goes right through the Crystal Islands portal!!!! I know that there's no other way for him to simply skip from a Midnight Mountain portal to a Midday Gardens portal, but how in the world can he move from that portal system to the Spooky Swamp system????

I know. It's weird. The first time that happened, I actually walked into the portal to see if Moneybags actually went into the level. Then, after discovering he wasn't there, went to Spooky Swamp to look for him earlier. (This was after I had payed that bear to get past that door. I didn't know back then how to get around him, since I had just gotten that game a few weeks ago.) Not there either. Then I realized that the game designers simply got rid of that bear from the rest of the game.

Maybe he went in there first because, well, wouldn't you wanna get away from someone who just mugged you with fire and got 8000 gems out of it as soon as possible? Maybe he wanted to stay safe until Spyro was gone for sure. Or maybe he was scared and lied about where he's going, to send Spyro off course.

Also, why, during the chase, does he wait for you when you don't run? Does he want you to catch him or something?

Oh yeah, this old blooper...

Maybe he had a teleportation device so secret and mystical he couldn't show Spyro because he would buy it, and then get the gems back.

And you may never know if that's how he disappeared in Shadow Legacy.

Ever since I played this game for the 1st time, I aways wondered why he did that. Ah well, my theory is that Moneybags wouldn't want to ask Spyro to lead him the rocket or he will flame him again, so he most likely went to Crystal Islands to hide somewhere first to make sure Spyro does not notice him. Than run off to Spookly Swamp when Spyro is gone!
