What about the Spyro movie? Relax, know it alls, I know it was cancelled, and why.
The movie was cancelled because the next Spyro game would be going in a diffrent direction. Well, HOW are they going to make a Spyro movie now? The plot summary for SkyLanders even admitts that Spyro isn't the main character anymore; it's about the kids who are playing the actual game. The only reason Spyro is in this is because Activison slapped his name on the cover so they could actullay make money off it.
I guess they could just make up an excuse like, "Oh, he was the protaginist all along," if they do make a movie, but I think what's most likely to happen is it's going to be a spin off movie to advertise the game and the main character will actullay be some random kids, for example, My Pet Monster. Ugj, that was a terrible movie!

How are they going to? They're not. There is NO Spyro movie at all. There won't be. That's the end of it.

Minredd's got the right of it. Spyro has passed the point at which he could make a decent movie by a long shot. We might still see one, but I honestly doubt it. He's suited for games and a Spyro movie, ultimately, would be just as silly and pointless as a Zelda movie (or just as bad as the Mario and Tomb Raider films). I'm quite content with this franchise staying in the realm of games and toys, thanks.

Any thoughts of a Spyro movie are dead and gone. That's why they aren't concerned with how they can make the movie, since they decided that the idea isn't as novel as it would've been years ago, and that it wouldn't make much money in the box office.

LoS is an idea that could've been made into a movie, provided the right people were working on it. Looking back at it, I'm glad it got cancelled, because I knew the movie was going to bomb after having seen who was working on it, and the company distributing it. It was for the best then, it's for the best now, and it's for the best in the future that Spyro doesn't get a film adaptation, since it's bound to be terrible.

And we all know the franchise Activision would use if they wanted to make an adaptation.

I still wish they'd given the movie a shot. I would have loved that, personally, and I think ANB would have made a really entertaining movie for those who liked the LoS series

^Well at least we have the fan movie being made, dispite it's technical difficulties.

If it makes any of you movie supporters feel any better, try queuing up all the cutscenes from ANB and TEN in chronological order. It actually makes for a cliched but adequate fantasy film as-is. Though you do have to live with a cliffhanger ending since DotD is so different from those two (and so contradictory to them) that it doesn't really match up.

I actually did that. I'm sure many people did. But they want an actual movie. Which is why a fan movie is currently being made.

Ehh true.. But a fan made movie is a completely different thing. And if they made a movie out of ANB, there'd be all new scenes, possibly and most likely, and all that stuff. I just think it would have been cool. I don't care how many people disliked the idea, I was excited for it, and dissapointed that it was cancelled.

^We plan to make new scenes and add new characters. We're gonna try to do what was originally planned for the actual film.

The topic for the other project is dead. Bolt's/GM's project is still kicking, but since GM's computer is busted, it's on hold.

A summary was found on the distributor's website. It did not tell much, though the end of the summary could either be taken as setting up TEN, or indicating it would include events between ANB and TEN.

If the movie page is still up on darkSpyro, there was actually an entire plot synopsis released for the film early on. That was posted to Spyroworld and later requested to be removed (it was leaked information). When the movie was canceled, dark52 put it up on his page.

And it says in the synopsis that Cynder is enslaved to Malefor by a red crystal around her neck.. Was that ever within ANB? I never noticed it, in that case. And I haven't played the game in a long time.

^There was no red crystal in the game. But at least that explains it more than the game did.

Oh, okay. The only red crystal I remember was the one she carried to convexity in the cutscene where Spyro follows her and they battle it out. I wonder if that's the crystal they're referring to then? But rather, she keeps it tied around her neck in the movie?

It wasn't like that in ANB, but the movies were basically just going to be LoS only in theaters.

The point is, the movie is never going to happen. It's dead and gone, and all you have left is 2 different fan made movies. Also must be noted that if the movie is succesful, our team will want to do the whole trilogy. And yes, we'll try to solve the plotholes of DotD.

It's active, but 80% of posts this month is from me, Jasher, and JanieBlithe. But, at least it's active

I do like our direction. A new universe. 3 planets: Kosei, Sato, and Avalar. Spyro starts out working for malefor. Much different and real interesting. But not that I don't like Cav, Bolt, Arceus, and GM's direction.

^Yeah, we plan to make an actual adaptation of the LoS series, including a film based between TEN and DotD, in an attempt to fix plotholes of DotD, and a film explaining what happens after DotD. It's worth a shot, and hopefully Activision can give us the right to sell it on DVD. Doubt it though.

Yes, it's sad the official movie was still cancelled though. Even if it were just a carbon copy of TLoS, it'd still be interesting to see. At least Spyro will probably be seen in 3D soon anyway(with the 3DS, it is optional for developers to actually implement the effects).

You know, I might try to make a fan-made movie in the future if I can ever figure out how to make organic 3D models with my modeling program...anyways, I don't think we'll be getting a Spyro movie. At least, not an official one. Even if they did decide to make one, it would probably be based more on human kids like the topic starter said.

@GM I think a know a program that can convert things into 3D. Maybe we can try it for the fan movie.
