Do we need this item to see everything this game got to offer pve wise ?

the selling site say it unlock survival mode

also another question regarding this game how do you regist the sidekicks i tried on both my ps3 and ps4 and they didnt regist in my skylanders giants worked just fine

It unlocks a battle arena, a stage/scenario for PvP battles.
