I just can't.
I spent hours trying, always failed.

If you're having trouble dodging his electric balls, you can circle directly around Gulp and they will never hit you.

The roll might also help you dodge his attacks.

I kept forgetting that the roll was in 2 now. It's actually pretty useful in this case.

Duck and weave! They rarely hit you so long as you don’t run in one direction. Dart left and right.
Or roll left and right. Good combo.

I found Gulp difficult to beat in Reignited, never had any issues in the original game. I found it harder to dodge his electric ball attacks and avoiding being squashed...

What the... Was Gulp always that tough?!
I sure remembered him as a challenging boss, but it took me 6 or 7 attempts to finally defeat him, 3 of which ended before he even reached half of his health. I honestly didn’t remember him (not sure if these are from Reignited, so spoiler-tagged just in case) being able to eat chickens to regain health nor being capable of smashing the eggs even while still being carried by the pterodactyls! What a formidable opponent, never had so much fun fighting him! Though I’m quite scared of Ripto and the last three Year of the Dragon’s bosses, now... At least reaching Winter Tundra actually felt like an achievement, this time.

Ripto is mostly the same but the worse camera, worse flight controls, and Hunter's insistence on dropping Orbs right on top of Ripto (this sometimes happened in the original but it's way more often and apparent here, like I've had multiple times where the Orbs don't even hit the ground because they land right on Ripto) make it more cumbersome than it needs to be.
Spyro 3's bosses are all free and have a much better camera than the Spyro 2 ones.

Must have been lucky then, because I’ve just defeated Ripto and had no problems whatsoever, neither in terms of controls nor RNG.
Have to say that’s how I remembered him, except in a much more epic way (the vocals in the soundtrack fit quite well, to be honest). If I had to point out a difference it would be the magic orbs Ripto shoots in the final phase, which felt a lot more difficult to dodge because they almost seemed to follow you. Not sure if they were like that in the originals as well, though. Of course the higher framerate also helped making everything feel faster and made Ript feel a lot more reactive, but that actually improved the overall experience. Glad to hear Year of the Dragon’s fights play out even better!

Well it depends on your perspective. Spike has been noticeably nerfed, he's way easier than the original version. IIRC he was considered one of the harder bosses in the series so I guess TFB thought they should make it easier for the new players.
Maybe it wasn't so far fetched if an actual journalist was comparing Buzz to Dark Souls.
