there is a lot of talk of skylanders ending, but now something new might be coming...

Well... I'm in the "Skylanders is not ending" camp. But, the "gift" post was relating to the whole 12 Days of Chirpmas. I wouldn't mind if they released a new game next year as much as I would prefer them to just take a break... With that said I can't see DLC happening. They're already pushing it with microtransactions, unless it's a free update or something.

I'd love that to be true, but I highly doubt it.

It would be nice for some DLC. Fix that glitch that erases SSA Heroic Challenges, fix the icons for some of the past title Skylanders.

Malicedoll? I don't think so, he just uses caps and talks on awkward places near the mic an unreasonable lot. After the Battlecast craze I can't look at his videos without my ears ringing, and he's not even one of the teeanger/kid youtubers.

Downloadable Content. Skylanders figures are technically DLC, but in this case, we'd be referring to extra content after release, free or paid.

Well, Skylanders figures are by definition not DownLoadable Content. However, they do fit the definition of the "evil twin" of DLC: Disc-Locked Content - Content which is on the disc, but not available unless you buy the unlocks.

Usually, it's just microscopic downloadable content, which basically just act as keys. But, in the case of Skylanders, the unlock conditions are the figures. Though, most Skylanders figures have a lot more functions than just being keys, being able to store information about the character.

To me, assuming they do decide to not release a game next year to just take a break until 2018, I'd say giving Imaginators some more content would be a good way to tide people over, whether it be new Imaginator parts, new modes, or whatever. I personally can't see them making any more Senseis, unless we get an extra Light and Dark character of the Bazooker or Quickshot class.

From the first video I saw of him I was never able to stand him. But anyway, back on topic:

It would certainly be nice to have more content, but it will probably not be for free.

The Imaginators idea should branch off into a new game with an even bigger library of parts. They already advertise infinite possibilities on the crystal boxes. Why not give people an expanding outlet for creativity?

That video means nothing, because the whole gift was actually the chirps thing.

That being said, I'd love if they kept adding content to the game over time through updates, like Lego Dimensions (and Disney Infinity before it died) does. That's personally a better model to me than having to buy a whole new game every year. If they add some new features and stuff like more Imaginator parts, that'd be even better.

Personally I would love to see them take the Imaginators creativity further by allowing us to create our own islands and physical worlds along the Minecraft route where you could spawn enemies etc. Then give us the ability to play on each others worlds. Charge a monthly fee, even have imaginite chests that unlock the ability to build certain types of buildings or terrain. They could take my money if they did that. A never ending series of adventures for all the Skylanders I currently own.

Or a battle-mode game for Imaginators. PvP and single player arena challenges.

Level creator/modifier definately has some beginnings with the bonus missions, but some are definately glitchy so it's more than just some months to implement if they put their mind into it.

Maybe a remaster or remake of SSA or something like that. I dunno seems kinda early but you never know.

i have an idea for a spinoff that is not need any toys but you can allso get a decent amount of lore for each one of the skylanders.

Oh that's Malicedoll, I haven't seen one of his video's in years. Yeah he doesn't know what the 12 days of Christmas Characters is for the App it seems.
