Has anyone actually done the speed run for The Lair of Kaos in under 3:30? I don't see how it's possible.

Use a quick character and ignore enemies as much as possible when there's no battle gate.

Mysticat is an excellent character for this, using his tertiary attack, since it not only gives him a massive speed boost, but causes enemies to be distracted by the decoy and ignoring him while he's invisible.

I agree with Nightmoon, Mysticat is the best to use for it. It took me a few tries to memorize the batches of enemies and the light beam puzzle, but do that and you're good to go.

I heard Luminous managed to do it with Aurora. I haven't attempted it myself but she has been my go-to gal for speedrun stars, so I'd suggest using her (especially if you put her on the bottom path).

Aurora is the first Sensei I'd use for harder speedruns. Of course the first character in general I consider is Stealth Elf, I'm not sure how nerfing has changed her gameplay but she's just fast in general. (Also Elite if you have her)

First rule of getting the speed run stars is to put difficulty to easiest setting so the enemies aren't damage sponges.
After that you can use pretty much any character you want. If you don't explore the level you will get the star and you can even kill pretty much everyone on your path. Except on lair of kaos, because the enemies are infinite on the later part of the stage.

I did it with Aurora and got it in under 3 minutes.

I did this with my dark smasher imaginator

Oh yeah, Imaginators! Ninja, Quickshot or Swashbuckler should do the trick.

I did it with my fire quickshot, Zippo! As already stated, just ignore any enemies you don't absolutely HAVE to kill and rush through as fast as you can without veering off into any side areas

I did it on Expert with my Earth Swashbuckler who does that spinning thing which makes him quick. For any battles I had to fight I used a sensei and then switched back to my Imaginator. Did it in 2.55 or something like that from memory. But will shortly be doing in on Nightmare mode and I'm expecting that to be much , much harder.

I used King Pen on easy (just happened to be the sensei I was trying to level up at the time). His short dash move was good enough.

Air Strike.

Basically, you want to get the game on Easy difficulty, then pick a Skylander with a Dash move. Then ignore all enemies, and where there are Monster gates, you just have to kill the biggest Kaos clone to unlock them. Hope I helped!

Ghost roaster

I did it on Aventurer difficulty with an Air Swashbuckler.

To get past the second Battle Gate, you only need to beat the larger enemy.

I think I done it in two and a half minutes with Aurora. Just learn how to do the crystals, ignore enemies and zip around really fast.

What took me forever was the break the score board challenge. I think that took me about 20 minutes or so? It was so very dull. I probably should have done it on easy so the baddies would die quicker come to think of it. LOL

I think I got it in 2:29. I used my Fire Quickshot whom has 100 speed and the fire dash ability, and I basically just dashed past everything.
