I looked through a bunch of stuff on this forum, but was not able to find answers:

What do Traptanium crystals do?

What does the UFO Hat do?

What does the Volcanic Vault do?

What do the old adventure sets do?

What do the old magic items do?

All toys you mentioned give your Skylander around 600 gold, which you can only do once for each toy. That's it.

Traps can be used as powerups for your vehicle in racing mode.
