I'm loving Wolfgang, King Pen, Chopscotch, Hood Sickle, Starcast, Tae Kwon Crow, Tri Tip, Air Strike, Ambush and Aroura. The others are cool and Golden Queen is growing on me, despite how spammy she can be.


AND EMBER! SHE'S GREAT! SLOW AS SIN THO.

Barbella, well, I love her design, like, oh my god love it, buuuut her game play leaves me a bit underwhelmed. very fun just need to play as her more I guess.


Kranky and Chompy Mage are wonderful. God dammit the charatcers are great this time around.

I also really like Hood Sickle, Mysticat, Starcast, and King Pen.

King Pen is the best mascot character by far. I didn't see too much special about Golden Queen at first, but her soul gem is probably the strongest out of the senseis so far! I really can't name a character that I purely hate in Imaginators besides Aurora! Tri-Tip, Mysticat, and Barbella don't really appeal to my style, but they aren't completely BAD. Tri-Tip has a weird name and generic design, but his attacks seem pretty OP. Mysticat has bad gameplay without his upgrades, but he has a cool name and design. Barbella has nice attacks, but ultimately doesn't appeal to me. I see problems in all of these Senseis, but they are simply my opinions and do not make them outright bad like ones in past games. This definitely has to be the strongest lineup of Skylanders to date.

TLDR: Every sensei looks good so far (except aurora, who has the absolute blandest design and attacks to date)

Air Strike and Mysticat are the absolute top ones for me. The attacks, the speed abilities, everything about them. Granted, much of Air Strike's appeal is due to Birdie ;3

Golden Queen and Chopscotch are pretty great too. And IMO, none of the Senseis are bad.

Hood Sickle, Pain-Yatta... all of the villains, basically.

I'd have to say Chopscotch and Barbella are the most fun for me right now.

I am lowkey disappointed by Ember and Starcast though...

I have to admit, I enjoy Ember far more than I thought I would. She's fast and strong and is just a lot of fun to play as. Aurora really surprised me as well, the speed is just amazing. Starcast & Golden Queen are slightly underwhelming, but I guess that's beause I overrated them in the first place. I still love them nevertheless, I just thought their attacks would be stronger (Though I think Goldy's Soul gem will fix some things). Mysticat is really complex, but also a lot of fun if you know how to use his attacks. Barbella is sinfully slow, but her attacks have a great range and the crystal clusters are good ways to damage enemies by them walking into it. Chopscotch has to be one of the most enjoyable Skylanders so far, it's great just destroying everything in your path. King Pen is my least favorite, though his attacks are really strong and the Ice Arena really makes him go insane.

As for the unreleased ones, I'm most looking forward to Tidepool, Boom Bloom, Buckshot & Flare Wolf. They all seem to have fun gameplay and I just love the characters in general.

I haven't disliked any yet, but my faves thus far are Ember, Aurora, Tae Kwon Crow, Ambush, Kaos and Crash Bandicoot

Krankcase, Kaos, and Wolfgang are probably the ones I'm enjoying the most. But I've yet to play any who feel like a dud this time around, which is great.

That's why this is really hard for me to decide. I am so happy that now not only are the senseis all so fun and good to play with, that even both paths are really not that bad. I have noticed so far that both paths for practically all of them are actually really balanced. While some are obviously better than others, it's so satisfying to finally see there is no horrid path from any of these guys so far.

I'm only going to do the ones I have, so I'm going to start with Air Strike. A really fun and overpowered character, from the start and fully upgraded. I did not like Air Strike at all when he was first leaked, but he has grown on me a lot, mainly because of Birdie, but hes such a fun character with amazing Attacks. Mysticat I really enjoy, and I know some people don't, but I find him really fun because hes more of a strategic character. The third attack can also really help you get away fast, then you can blast them from behind, but first starting out, he desperately needs upgrades, but once he gets them, hes a beast. Starcast I was honestly slightly disappointed with, but doesn't really change a thing. Once you get that upgrade where he throws two extra shurikens, it kinda goes downhill from there. He can't move when throwing them, and they don't even do that much damage, however, I still love his Megastar riding, (and the soul gem aaaaagh), and I think he has a fantastic design, but he really could have been better. Tae Kwon Crow is bad starting out, but once fully upgraded, he is a BEAST, and destroys well... everyone. The soul gem is so fun to use too. I don't have much else to say, besides that. Ember is pretty bad without upgrades, kinda like Mysticat, but once she's fully upgraded on the top path, it honestly just blows me away. The charged up Supernova with low health is overpowered as heck, and she has one of the best Sky-Chi's so far. I'm impressed with her. Hood Sickle was overpowered to begin with, but on the top path, hes a speed demon with swinging his scythe. It makes him so fun to play as, and his Soul Gem is overpowered too. I love playing as him. Aurora I admit could have been a lot better. She's pretty slow with her Flash Dash, but her sword swings are quick and fun, but she really could have been a lot better, so I'm slightly disappointed. Chopscotch is overpowered. Nuff' said. Her axe slams are super strong, and the Spin to Win is so good too. I love being able to charge up her axe and it does so much damage, it's ridiculous, but amazing. Golden Queen is weak starting out, doing 33 damage with her scarabs, but once she's level 20, and fully upgraded on the top path, she does 93 DAMAGE. That's a HUGE difference. I didn't know that leveling up your characters increased they're damage, and it made Golden Queen so powerful. Her Soul gem too... wow. Finally, King Pen. Turned out a lot better then expected, and I love the combos and ice blades on the top path. The Emperor Penguin mode, kinda like Aurora's Eon's Power ability, makes King Pen so strong and fun.

Overall, I'd say my favorites are Starcast, Mysticat, Air Strike, Hood Sickle, and Chopscotch, out of the ones I have.
Also, I did not count Kaos, Crash, or Cortex.

Ambush and Air Strike.

Air Strike, Ember, Tae Kwon Crow, Chopscotch, Golden Queen, and Ambush. In that order. After those I have 4 Imaginators that I love playing with.

I said that Krankcase was my absolute favorite. Now that I've played as him, I can say it'll stay that way. Close behind is Wolfgang, Cortex and Crash.

Strangely, i've appreciated all the 9 sensei i got, they have all their positive points and very different gameplay.
I need to test more hood sickle and chopscotch.

But Kranky, Aurora, Golden Queen, Air strike, Wolfgang, King Pen, even Kaos are very fun to play.

Ambush and Starcast are the ones I've used the most outside of my Imaginators.

Starcast has been my favourite purely on the figure and I'm a sucker for Ninjas

So far, the only Senseis that I've got all their upgrades, but are currently at level 15, are King Pen, Ambush and Aurora. Of those three, I like Ambush and Aurora.
Just found Pain-Yatta's Soul Gem.
Not sure who else are my top favorites. Haven't used Barbella. Starcast's cool, but TKC's flaming shuriken is wicked...especially when they ricochet.

I'm living Ambush, Chopscotch, and surprisingly Barbella. Barbella I didn't expect much from, but man does she put in the work.

Kaos. I am looking forward to playing as Grave Clobber.

Started to play with Barbella. She's pretty wicked, especially her Sky-Chi. But I love her third attack, playing rock golf or hockey.

Favorites so far:

Tae Kwon Crow: I like his design/personality, his moveset is interesting.
Aurora: Moveset is not particularly original, but I like how super fast she is.
Wolfgang: He's just fun, especially on the Soundmeister path (yo Drawdler) where you send torrents of damage unto enemies.

Mysticat is interesting, but not satisfying enough to play IMO.

I think he can't become a giant chompy due to the fact he needs his magic to become a giant chompy and he tosses out his staff. The way I see it. No staff. No magic

Mysticat is my absolute favourite. Which is weird because he started out as my least favourite (I found him hard to use and kept dying). But I figured I just needed to practice with him. Now he's my team's star.

After that, Wolfgang, Crash, Air Strike and Aurora.
