I was just wondering if you could reset crystals and if they can be does it reset the battle class or just the abilities?

You can't reset the crystals. Once you choose the battle class, that's it. You can't change. You can change your Imaginator's appearance and move at any time though.

However, if you have the 3DS version of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, they can be reset by using that game just like any other figure can be reset.

Pyrofer's tool also works, the thread about the 3DS exploit has more details.

Wait really? I can't see how Pyrofer's tool works. In what ways?

From the thread I mentioned:

Since a particular user was confused as to how I managed to make the 'GUI Tool Crystal Writing', I'll just stick my PM to him here. Don't worry, no personal detail or anything.

I'm using the latest version of his tool, which you can get to using this link in case you don't have it: https://mega.co.nz/#!JdZxDYAQ!...oBokKqCpQSkRCpI
He posted this 11/13/2014, post #364 on his Skylanders Tool thread.

To save it, first read the Crystal on the Portal, and after it has been successfully read, click 'File', then 'Save Figure'. This will dump the all the Crystal's data into the tool.

After you've reset it, or even after you've put other information on it (haven't tested that to be sure), put the figure back into the tool, and after it has been successfully read, click on the # that represents the particular Crystal (my Fire CC was #685), and if you have more than one of an element, make sure that ALL the numbers along the bottom to the right of the bottom left corner are the same as the figure you put on.

After you have clicked the appropriate #, click 'Portal', then 'Write Figure'. When you see in the bottom left 'Write OK', the data you saved previously should be on the CC.

Note: Do not forget to select the data for you figure by clicking it TWICE. If you just click 'Write Figure' after clicking your data ONCE, it will just write the data that is currently on the figure back into it. You will not get back your Imaginator.
Happy Imaginating!

Keep in mind this tool is allowed as it's for backup. Tools for hacking or cheating are not allowed to be discussed on the forum.

Oh, that's used for saving the data on the Crystal so you can put it back after resetting the character. I thought you meant it could be used TO reset them.

You can use it to reset, but you would have to backup before creating an Imaginator, then change to the clean backup.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

If you cant do Pyrofer's way, you can reset your Crystals completely back to factory defaults using the 3DS SSA or 3DS SG way. Talk to Wendel / Hugo and they will reset your Crystal.

I'm glad this was discovered. I've been holding off on using my creation crystals until I get some more senseis and crystals from Wave 3, and in the (very faint) hope that Activision might relent on their 'you-no-reset-crystals' policy, so my crystals were all still untouched.

So now, after saving the data from my empty crystals, I've been able to create a character and then erase him by overwriting the crystal with the 'empty' data. It's not as convenient as an in-game reset function, and I'm petrified of losing the data dumps from my empty crystals somehow, but at least it'll allow me to start afresh if I find that I'm not liking a particular element/class combination.
