For the ones I have used the most so far:
King Pen: Love his fast melee attacks, hate how long his ice arena attack takes. Ambush: Nice and speedy, but his bamboo trail disappears fast. Wolfgang: Knee slide attack is fun, but his arrows have a very narrow radius (I haven't fully upgraded, do they get better?) Kaos: VERY overpowered, but he is near stationary while he attacks, so it leaves him vulnerable from behind. Krankcase: Hat Bots are super fun, but his goo puddles are rather small. |

I own 5 that I have used (some I'm saving for later). Here are my findings as of now:
King Pen: Like: Ever since he got the charge attack where he spins forward in a corkscrew-like pattern, he's been great for inflicting damage in close range and then getting out of there, if necessary. He has a great, dynamic fighting style. Dislike: I've noticed he has trouble when multiple foes close in and establish close range, but even then, his jump + attack 1 move (X + square on the PS4) can sometimes compensate for it. Golden Queen: Like: Her petrifying earthquake is fantastic for crowd control and stopping enemies if you time it properly! The golden winged relic helper is also effective. Dislike: The lack of fast attacks. All attacks have relatively average attack speed or worse. Chopscotch: Like: Her axe slams and spinning axe attacks are fantastic! One is great for dealing damage and the other is great for dealing damage while moving and you can easily transition out of the axe spin and start chopping up foes when an opportunity comes up! She has an attack for nearly any situation. Dislike: About all I can think of is that her hold attack 3 (triangle on the PS4) takes an uncomfortably long amount of time to charge, and I think she has to move forward while doing so, which can be dangerous and requires timing to execute safely. Tri Tip: Like: His attacks are powerful if you can set them up safely. The charge attack is massively powerful, not as slow as it seems and works well on the lower path. Dislike: The lack of attack speed and area-of-effect attacks (most attacks he has hits the foe directly in front of his face). It makes using him dangerous and I find he takes a lot of hits when I use him. Ember: Like: Her dual-edged katana can hit enemies on all sides of her and has great attack speed. Dislike: I find Ember's other two attacks have very few practical uses--the supernova attack doesn't work that well and the attack 2 (O on the PS4) takes a bit too long to cast and is relatively pointless in terms of the damage it deals. It creates more trouble for Ember than it saves. The Katana's damage output is also not nearly as high as I would like it to be. EDIT: Aurora: Like: Aurora's close range attacks and pass through capabilities with her attack 2 (O on the PS4) are great!! It lets her get directly behind an enemy and start blowing holes in their health before they'll ever know what happened. Dislike: About all I can think of is the lack of effectiveness in her attack 3 (triangle on the PS4) attack. It's not very helpful and I rarely use it. Crash Bandicoot: Like: Crash has good damage output and his ability to come back from defeat with his 'extra lives' is a real plus! He also is good for knocking enemies down. Dislike: The abnormally low health and armor stats. Also, the start-up speed of his spin attack is rather slow. Dr. Neo Cortex: Like: Cortex's ray gun shots are fast and effective enough. The mines he throws are also really disruptive and are good for keeping foes from getting too close. Uka Uka is also great if you go down the path that enhances him. Dislike: His limitation in dealing with crowds. All of his attacks only hit one target at a time, so large scale groups are not a good sign for him. |
