*IMPORTANT NOTICE* at this point, I am not offering to buys, sell, or trade anything whatsoever, just seeing what kind of interest might be out there and what kind of way to do this so no one gets ripped off. If we figure something out, we will either have to get dark's approval or move off-site to continue.
So, Mystery Chests can be used over and over on different save files. You will either unlock new pieces or power-up existing parts.
So, in what way can we make use of this that is legal (i.e.: not distributing chest files via the internet), safe (i.e.: one person doesn't steal a package of 25 chests), fair (i.e.: one person doesn't end up paying to ship chests out to 25 different people or potentially get stuck with paying for 25 Chests no one wants to repay for), and the least amount of cost (i.e.: not everyone paying to ship out a package every three days to a new address).
Thoughts?

Unless you have people you can swap with in your area, you'll probably end up paying more money to ship chests around than you would just buying them... :/
I feel you, though. I wish I knew more people who played the game so I could swap chests with them... But alas, I am an adult and I don't want to be accidentally featured on "To Catch a Predator" just because I'm a dork who enjoys collectibles. |

^ There's quite a few adults playing the game. Nothing wrong with it, it's a fun adventuring platformer.

"Hello, I'm Chris Hansen, and from your online transcripts you're here to 'swap chests' with little Billy? You stated and I quote 'I can't wait to see what sweet loot you're going to give me! (smiley face)' What are you really here for Mr. McMurderpaws?" LOL Ahh those were great shows, getting scum off the street.

Too risky to do it on darkSpyro. You better start this kind of thing on the Skylanders Worldwide Facebok group and people that want to be involved need to have done trades in the past and proof that they are reliable.

With shipping costs it might be prohibitive. I've got a feeling they are going to be much cheaper down the road (like Infinity disks), so it might be better just to get them then. It was a decent idea for items that couldn't be easily obtained, like the Target pre-order card for the UFO hat, but with these they are not hard to come by.
It is a good idea if you have friends that play locally. They missed a chance to encourage online play, what would have been cool is people could use chests to "bet" on the race, with the winner getting the items in one of the chests of the other racers if they won. |

Wow, a good spin on racing and something that would've compelled a lot of people to play! Stop making sense, it's too logical. |

I am in the same boat. I'm 24 but I enjoy all of the Skylander games so much, plus the thrill of the hunt to collect them.

I am 42 and love the Toys for Life games. My Son is now 5 and has now his first own Skylanders. At this moment he likes playing Lego dimensions more, but I looking forward to play all the Skylanders games again with him.
It takes a lot of space...

I wish people would at least TRY a Skylanders game on expert or nightmare and see how they like it before saying it's "just for kids." Sure, the figure aspect makes it seem like that, but hey, the vast majority of amiibo fans are adults and they have no problem with it. Both are fun to collect, except I think the people I've met who love amiibo but hate on Skylanders would end up liking Skylanders even more than amiibo if they just gave it a try.

The figure part is usually the easiest to bridge in people. They understand that, and many guys in particular can instantly see the enjoyment in that. The game itself is harder to get across, because it comes off as silly. I've got a buddy that thought the idea was cool (I even gave him a couple old duplicates I had for his desk), but the game just seemed a little too silly for him to play much. The game itself is fine, but the cutscenes (particularly Flynn and Kaos stuff) make it seem aimed at young children. Kaos has gotten better over time as he has gotten more over the top funny, but Flynn has gotten way worse. |
