Throughout the years that Skylanders has been around, there has always been an 'Upgrade Path Recommendations' topic, which in my mind is a smart idea. Often when people get new Skylanders, they want to know what playstyle would be most effective. It's even helped me some, up until Superchargers, when I was able to test out each of the paths and know which was better or worse. What I don't like about the topics from SSA to SSC is that they are completely unorganized.

Take the Tier Lists from SSA to STT. They organized each of the Skylanders with their upgrade paths in a list that showed how effective each one was in Arenas, PvP, and Kaos' Doom Challenge. There was usually some discussion for where a Skylander would be located, and then afterwards the OP listed that Skylander in the list, solidifying it's position, and also making it well-known to anyone that that was the recommended path for that character (the one closest to the top).

With the Upgrade Path Recommendations, there is just an OP listing the details of how to suggest a path, and then everyone goes on like that: Suggesting paths in their posts. While it is a nice system, what it lacked was a collection of that info in the OP. Because of that lacking information, users have to navigate through pages of recommendations, especially for a popular game like SG. Granted that for SSF and STT there was less of that (SSF had no Recommendations at all), but that was because there was a PvP Tier List to use instead, or for STT, the KDC and Arena Tier List.

I propose that we change the Recommendations thread to something that can be easily used by all people. We still have people give their opinions on what path is better, but we also have the OP update their list with the most popular opinion for a path for that character. They also can list the Post #s so that users can check for themselves why that path is recommended. If possible, we could even implement these recommendations in a Tier List for the levels in SI, so that people know which characters are effective and which are not. This would save time, and make it so the Recommendations are alike to the Tier Lists in a good way.

Note: For older characters, we can use older versions of the Recommendations to determine what their most popular path is, and for characters that have equal numbers of support for both paths, we can put both paths as recommended. I would be willing to undertake the project of making 'SI Upgrade Path Recommendations - Tier List Format'.

Sorry double posting and reviving a dead topic, but I noticed that a new Upgrade Path Recommendation Thread has been opened, with the same old format. I'll be creating my own thread with the changes I suggested when release day comes, and I hope that it will succeed. It may be closed or shoved down by the newer topics, but at least I 'll get a chance to change this system.

...It seems that Senseis will be able to go on BOTH paths at once, so it seems this topic isn't needed.

From what we saw on the mysticat gameplay video, his alternate path was still locked when he was fully upgraded. I think that " all upgrades" theory might not hold up, unless it's another portal power locked thingy again or something.

Not confirmed though, and honestly, I don't see that as likely or why they would even do that.

I am assembling the full list for the next topic. It will include all current Skylanders in it and placeholders for the Senseis. This will use recommendations from the Skylanders' source games, as that is when they will have the most recommendations. I will create the new topic when it is finished.

Edit: Correction- I'll just use each character's poll results as there are far too many posts to go through. *sigh* My point still stands for the recommendations.
