I might get this game if it has a huge price drop but my only question is, how many figures do we need to 100% this game? if its already confirmed... since many of the figures will probably not be available anymore by the time this game gets a huge discount.

Depends what you mean by 100%

All unlockable parts of the game can be accessed by Senseis of specific Battle Classes (Sensei Shrines), Elements (Sensei Elemental Gates), or open to any Sensei (Gong Battles). You'll also need the Adventure Packs, to access those, of course.

However, to unlock all Imaginator parts, you need ALL Senseis (optionally, Alt Deco versions) and a Crystal in each Element. This is due to each Sensei* unlocking 2 exclusive parts - An aesthetic part and their weapon(s), and the Creation Crystals of each Element unlocking a full set of exclusive parts.

*: Possibly excluding Kaos and/or Crash, who might not unlock weapons.

So for all areas the least amount of figures is 13+10 (or 11+10):
- 2 from starter pack
- 8 to fill all elements and battleclasses
- 2 more from adventure packs, if it is not possible to fit them in the 8 above
- 1 Kaos

- 1 imaginator crystals from starter pack
- 2 crystals are from adventure packs
- 7 crystals are need to fill all elements and battleclasses

possibly:
- 2 more figures: Crash and Neo
- Chests?

*if there are only two adventure packs
