Both times, he was listed as an "honorable mention", meaning he didn't make his way to the list at all, but came close, twice apparently.

We didn't know Tidepool's name when she was first leaked, so most people just called her "Splatoon" or sometimes "Marina".

I'm just gonna pick my favourite of each element on who I like to play as.
Air: Air Strike (speedrunner's best friend), with Bad Juju at a close second.
Life: Boom Bloom (I don't have Ambush or CM, and I don't like Crash's Lives mechanic. But Boom Bloom is really fun to play as.)
Undead: Chopscotch (AAAAAXXXXEEEEESSSSS)
Earth: Tri-Tip (Gameplay-wise, GQ has a better design and character)
Fire: Ember (All the Fire Elements were really good this year)
Water: King-Pen (This might change when I get GC or Tidepool
Magic: I don't have Pain-Yatta yet, and the other two don't interest me.
Tech: Chain Reaction (No contest)
Light: Aurora (speedrunner's soulmate, also I don't have Blastertron yet)
Dark: Hood Sickle (He's fun.)
