Semi-open world?

With the new info at gamescom, we got wind of a "semi open world" like area, possibly a huge version of Skylanders Academy that leads to each level.


First off, where did we get this info? A video I know and I don't doubt it, I'm just curious about which one.


Anyway, what do you hope for and what do you expect from this semi open world?


Do you think this is an actual semi open world or more of just us misinterpreting?

I think we might be getting our hopea too up. Chapter levels don't really make an open world game, just a really big hub. Also a big hub doesn't matter if you can't do anything with it.

Haha...that was funny...

But yeah, the hubs have been pretty...eh...since SAS...and that was more driven by story. After that the changes just didn't "do much" ya know? And they haven't added real content via the hubs - Iguess last time there was some vehicle stuff, but I hated the vehicle stuff and didn't do it (smilie)

I agree with you. I think we're getting our hopes up.


And TBH, if there isn't much to do in the big hub, I won't mind. In TT, I spent most of my days at the Academy just running around.

Being able to go explore the worlds levels are set in from the hub, and have them all interconnected, without starting a level would be nice.

Kaos, Cortex and Krankcase's b-rolls all show at some point a large circular arena in the undead level with doors serving as spawners, though there's no one hosting it. Very possible.

Oh wow, he's so far off in the corner I have to squint. But still, it's not a character hosting it like in Giants and TT, but it's the same design as the other ones.
