I am definitely getting my PS3 Crash Pack now. Before I wasn't sure, but now Cortex made it clear I need this pack in my life now more than ever. I knew he was gonna get in, but just can't believe we actually got both Crash and Cortex.

This design of Cortex is excellent. Wow. It's a good mix of the classic and Twinsanity design. This is amazing.

What battle class is he though? I don't know them all... (except the Brawler one) :V

He's a Sorcerer. His symbol is the same as Golden Queen's.

Wow now that is some serious variety there. They could have just made him a quickshot, but that would have been too easy. Instead they made him have a magical ray gun and is now a sorcerer nice plot twist TFB. I first thought he looked weird with his head turned, but now I feel this works for him. In fact he loves to stand like this with his one hand on his chest and looking all high and mighty. This is truly a great year to be both a Skylander and Crash Bandicoot fan such as myself.

Oh damn! HD pic up in here! Cortex as a Sorcerer? Odd. I was expecting Quickshot or Bazooka, considering the gun. So we have Crash and King Pen, both Brawlers; Cortex and Golden Queen, both Sorcerers and previous villains.

Then again we all should have seen this coming. I just remembered that Cortex couldn't be a Quickshot because is already a Quickshot and it's pretty clear to me Uka Uka will play a role in making him ore Relevant to him being a sorcerer even though he's one of the most iconic mad scientists in gaming history.

Does this mean 2 villains, or "former" villains for tech and only 1 new sensei? Only supposed to be 31 figures and I missed the Crash era in gaming. Hoping for another new one.

I guess a sorcerer of the tech element would have to break outside the box of what we would consider a usual " sorcerer" anyway, considering it's supposed to be the element that is opposite to magic.
It's difficult to imagine but I guess a Tech sorcerer was always gonna be a difficult notion.

It's hard to tell what to expect considering we haven't seen the primary attack of what defines an imaginators of the sorcerer class . But I assume it's something like shooting a magic project tiles from the end of their staffs/ wands, so I guess that could translate to Cortex's gun .

I'm not familiar with Cortex's past game abilities , but for some other tech element " sorcerer" abilities , I'm imagining something similar to the tech element spell punk that summoned a targeting laser from the sky( I always imagines a satellite) would suit a Tech Element Sorcerer quite well.

Well for PS/Wii U owners, things got kicked up a notch or two, AFTER ALREADY having been kicked up a notch or FOUR last year.
I can play all 4 guest stars on 1 disc #ujelly
Untortunately that requires me to BUY two discs, however, the fact remains that Wii U is still the definitive version.

i hope that they release crash bandicoot and neo cortex in single packs or even a double pack together at around christmas

A Crash Adventure Pack has been confirmed for release at 30th November. Most likely, it's a 2-pack featuring Crash and Cortex, with Crash unlocking the actual level.

But is there anything that confirms Crash actually unlocks an adventure now? Yeah I know it's called the adventure pack but it sounds to me like it might be a pack that just contains Crash and Cortex.

If the person at E3 recorded him early, they got a prompt saying that his level was unlocked when Crash was first used. It showed up for a few videos.

So he's a Sorcerer, uh?
Well, TfB really wants to use their imagination, this year.

Guess he'll get some help from Uka Uka or the crystals.

That, or they'll take the "boom stick" joke up a notch and have him do "magic" with the gun. As in, turn a vulture into roast turkey.

Could be, I think it depends on the mood of the game: SuperChargers had no problem making fire Skylanders turn chickens into roast turkeys for a single level (we need more of those features, by the way) but this game might be more """serious""".

But they could definitely play on that in terms of lines and abilities.
"Hey, Portal Master, did you see how I made that Chompy disappear... With my gun?
Who needs Magic when you have a weapon of mass destruction?".

I think they made him sorcerer just so that he has the same battle class as Golden Queen. Since Crash is a brawler and unlocks the same move as King Pen, then Cortex should unlock the same as GQ.

He could also "summon" allies with the evolution ray if he say, fired at Chompies or bugs to look like they came from the beam. They could get really clever with this concept, but let's see if David noticed the opportunity as well as with Crash.

Yeah, game design wise, it makes a whole lot more sense to make Cortex a sorcerer instead of something else.

It's a ray gun which functionality-wise works just like magic.

Like telekinesis ? Ray gun

Sorcerer makes sense if his moveset is basically built around the "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" trope.

I think it's stupid to use the excuse that his technology could function the same as Magic. That's what I thought of too, but in the end, it's still Tech he makes. Still, it's such a minor nitpick it doesn't really bother me, it's more like a silly goof. The classes probably won't be relevant after this game and they don't even seem to have major prominence in this one aside from the occasional, optional shrine and unlocking stuff for Imaginators.

But if you think about it, Battle Class refers to the fighting style rather than the elemental nature of the attacks. It just so happens that the sorcerer fighting style usually requires magic to perform, but Cortex is an exception because his technology is so advanced.

With Cortex being a sorcerer we will probably get wands and not just staffs

ive just seen gameplay of cortex and he actually plays really well
also the jungle level looks really cool reminds me of spyros adventure for some reason or swap force
