I feel no Hype towards him just that I need him to complete the collection.
I'm glad he's playable. As a character I love the little guy.
Of course as i've said since the announcement of imaginators that my hype is due to creating my own characters and pretty much all my skylander adventure plays will be with my created characters.
STILL I'm happy to have him.

there was no surprise for me however. The moment they said there would be 11 villains the only possible choices were Kaos, Glumshanks, Kaos Mom or a guest like Cortex. But Kaos is who the fans wanted since Giants.

I think there will be a Kaos Class. But what Element does he fall on? Or Does he bring in a Kaos Element? Then within the next game is there going to be Kaos Element Cores? Now allowing for Glumshanks to be apart of that element and his family.

NO! This feels SO wrong! Does this mean someday we might get Flynn, Cali, Mags and Buzz figures?!??!?! Ugh...

Lore wise I don't think his figure existence will be explained completely but I don't think it really needs to be at this point. It's just for fun and people will justify their own reasoning.

I'm hoping that for the games sake that his figure functionality will have a lock on it though so it can't be used at the start of the game.

Considering he's his own " dark portal master " element , I don't think he'll have the same function as regular senseis . E.g. Not really their to train imaginators. I think he'll do/ unlock something different.

Look, I'll say this once and only once. Skylanders is not just a video game franchise, it's a toy line that has to sell figures. What does literally every toy line similar in format to Skylanders have? Villain figures. Autobots have Decpticons. The Ninja Turtles have the Foot Clan. Skylanders was going to do this sooner or later. They are six games in at this point. They aren't even guaranteed a SEVENTH at this point, so why all the complaining? If they can explain why Villains are here in the first place, they can work their lore magic to explain why we can play as Kaos in this game.

Wouldn't that base mean Kaos element? We have already seen the dark element base, and the details are more curly shaped like Trap Team bases.

If it is the Kaos element, and it looks as if it is. Might that mean a possible creation crystal for that element too?

However I doubt he's going to be a playable character for a number of reasons, mainly concerning the lore.

I'm more inclined to think he will work similarly to the previous two Kaos-themed items we've had, they simply choose to give us a proper figure because part of this year's toy-line is made of villains.
Probably unlocking parts or maybe even a special level.

But if TfB can find an appropriate explanation, I'm all for it!

The explanation is simple:

For the look of things it doesn't matter as long as you preorder in the right store, but it's better to wait for more of them to offer the figure to be sure.

It's not even close to artwork quality. The illustration company that does the Skylanders artworks is all digital painting, not a comic-looking lineart only.

RIP lore. Hopefully this does mean we get another villain, like Malefor or something. But wouldn't it be cool if it did integrate into lore? Like what if the same magic that created the original Skylanders in The Beginning trailer was used on Kaos, maybe because it backfired or someone else used it?

Is it just me, or is Kaos doing the same pose like he did in these pictures?

Same pose, the only change is that his head is facing the other way(kinda like the translucent figures, while the black one faces left).
Same as that Trap Team statue though.

A seventh game is already being developed by V.V.: it can be cancelled, sure, but I highly doubt it.

Regarding villain figures you are absolutely right, but that's exactly the point: Decepticons are still evil, the Foot Clan is still evil, Skylanders' villains...?
No, they are not only good, they are Skylanders themselves.

One thing is creating a parallel toy-line of villains and maybe let you play as them against the Skylanders, in a special Story Mode, another is turning the villains into heroes just to make fans happy.

This whole thing makes me even more salty about traps being dropped, because they were a smart and unique way to let us play as our own favorite villains.

I think Kaos won't have a battle class. He will however have a sky chi move.

Yeah, I would love it if he constructs a mini sky eater and it spews out every element

If kaos is a figure we might expect diffrent villian this time.
