I haven't been active in a while, but with all this news, does anyone know the prices of the crystals and senseis?

To be fair, the crystals need to have larger data space than the average Skylander, due to all the available customization options. In comparison, the traps may have had less than a Skylander, due to no leveling, upgrade paths or money storage.

Phoenix Crystal is the best unreleased Crystal.
Skylanders Academy Season 2 was an improvement.
I don't know what to think of Skylanders' future.

The crystals will do more then the traps, but the price increase for " larger data space " isn't really a justification . All the data is in the game . These toys just have simple identifiers to tell the game what to put on screen .

The amount of info you'd need for these is tiny and they probably have more space then what they need already . They probably just use a small table of figures.

E.g.

Display= Element, class, name
Head=design, size, colour
Torso= design, size, colour
Etc...
Upgrade 1 = True/false
Upgrade 2 = true/false

The price most likely just represents the work that went into making the character design studio and interface.

I do think the price is abit high though , I don't mind paying money for skylander toy coz I'm buying a cool character figure for my shelf and a game expansion. But when the figure is physically just a small " magic item" it's harder for me to justify the expense, even though they look kind of cool, it's not the same as a figure of an elemental hero .

I would have pirced the cyrstal in 8$. A middle point between traps and core figures.
