Since Activision love their Variants, how do you think they'll handle the variant Creation Crystals if they do choose to make them.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they made a Crystal with special exclusive customization options that can only be obtained using said Crystal. Like a Winter themed set, or a Pumpkin themed Set. You could even tie in the Skymiibo by having exclusive Nintendo themed customizations come with the Crystal!

Thoughts?

What if they made a variant crystal that already has a created skylander in there thats really cool?

I don't know about the Nintendo exclusive ones but I do like the idea of Winter/Halloween/*insert other holiday here* versions. I could see an Icy Blue set for winter and a brownish orange set for fall/hallow's eve

I can see ToysRus having a Legendary Creation Crystal(s) just to turn our Skylanders Blue and Gold. Plus I'm hoping that the Dark Edition comes with a Dark Edition Crystal (remove the Fire, I'm fine with one). I wanna Create a Dark Edition Skylander of my Choosing

Dark, Legendary, Nitro, Holiday, Winter, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc. The list goes on for possibilities.....and I'm alright with that!

Variant crystals hmm, I see. They might just choose to make 10 crystals because then they wouldn't have so many shelf warmers. (water traps) But I could see maybe a few variants, not holiday though, I don't see that being a big seller.

Variant Crystals would certainly catch a hefty price, especially when you consider that some traps go for nearly $50 now.

This could be the first year where I actually buy variants, if they'll truly allow more customization options.

So, please Activision, DO NOT create them.

THEY MUST HAVE A CRYSTMAS CRYSTAL!

Not a big fan of variants unless they bring unique in game features which set them apart from their standard versions.

In this context, I don't think crystals within the same element will be very different from a gameplay point of view. However if different elemental cyrstals really add new relevant customization options I may get several of them.

It'll probably be like the Legendary Traps and not change a thing

A WiiU unique crystal that lets you wield the Master Sword.

I could imagine just physical variants...nothing that would change what you get in-game.
I personally want to see a variant that makes the crystal a 20-sided die...or however many sides it has.

i have a feeling that during comic con/gamescom activision's gonna wind up giving out some kind of crystal variant.

I was sitting here thinking...what if there are chase variant creation crystals? Perhaps they could be gold or silver or whatever. Another crazy idea: what if there were special Imaginators pre-loaded into the chase variants? Do you see this as a possibility? What would be your opinion of such a thing?

To be honest, I don't really see it as a large possibility myself, but hey. I'd actually be in favor of such a thing. It'd make chase variants even more special to find. It'd probably drive the reselling price way up though.

I can definitely see chase variants of crystals. I personally don't care much about them, but I know people who are really into it.

Instead of including imaginators, they might include additional customization options (gear, body parts, powers, etc). SOmetinhg exclusive which can't really be achieved any other way. However, I wouldn't be surprise if they don't include anything at all.

I could see them unlocking SPECIFIC content to that variant for creation purposes. Not playing that game this year though.

maybe have one with a legendary paint job which makes what ever skylander you make legendary.
