I worked for me on the first try with Wii U 1.3.0
Granted it only worked when I had Night Shift on, as soon as I switched to Dino Rang it wasnt working anymore

You need to have an attack that is strong enough to split it open. I am using WiiU 1.3.0

The Piggy Bank also works. Can now get +$10k/min (using elite zook)

Used the piggy bank, he's right. Wii U 1.3.0. Nearly got my elite zook fully upgraded. (Plan to reset him so I can upgrde him properly.

I tried on my 360, but it didn't work. Not sure if I done it correcty or not.

What do you mean by properly? Don't forget that the elites can switch paths oddly enough this year.

Fully upgraded both paths for all Spyros Adventure and Giants. Now onto Swap Force and Trap Team

Works with a skylander with a strong enough attack.

Doesn't work with every Skylander sadly. I can do it multiple times with Voodood, but with Zook could only break them once. Same with Dive Clops. So, YMMV on which Skylanders actually work with this, and even then, when money is turned on in Portal Mastery and on Nightmare mode, it only yields about 500 gold a break.

Edit: 426 gold a break to be exact. That's factoring in nightmares 30% extra rewards, and all gold options selected on Portal Mastery. Still can't beat Trap Teams awesome 9000 gold in 3 minutes trick.

This actually worked on my Wii U. It's probably because I don't have the updated version.

Just got 9202 in 3 min

I used it on my Wii U....but the SuperChargers couldn't hit them hard enough to brake them....because after the first round they got harder to brake. In order to brake them it takes a single hit of over 150. Hence why you need an Elite.
So i did this...
1. I added a second player making him Eon's Elite Trigger Happy.
2. Set the Sky Diamond, Piggy Bank and the Healing Elixir in a triangle group.
3. Having the one i want to get the gold...(by the way mine didn't drop as much gold as KaRNiV8L picture shows)...stand by them.
4. Have EE Trigger Happy stand far enough away and use his fully charged shot to blast all 3 at the same time.
5. Pick up gold...go talk to Persephone. ...and back to (3.)
Also i only get 379 gold...from all 3.


Oh...and is it just me or dose everyone elses Eon's Elite at level 20 already? Both my Eon's Elite Zook an Eon's Elite VooDood where already leveled up to 20 just had to buy the upgrades.

Yeah if someone can make a video of themselves using this method and getting 9000k in 3 minutes, I'll lick the bottom of my shoe.

This method might be fast for figures that work with this game only, but Trap Team still offers the fastest method.

That's pretty much how the Elites work this time around.

I was able to do it with Splat on the PS4 I only needed to use the Graffiti Gruff upgrade.

11257 in 3 min with Elite Zook

Looks like Mini Jini to me. Still want video proof of 9k+ in 3 minutes. Just don't see it happening.

I can't record video, but I used this method to buy all upgrades for a fresh out the box Spitfire, and got 10k in just over two minutes. Still needed loads more to upgrade both paths, so an extra minute or so.

Since Persephone is right there and you don't need to load/reload levels, I prefer this method over the Trap Team/Chomp Chest method.

It also works with Mirror of Mystery.

Patched Wii U - NOPE. Come back tomorrow.

With that said, I DID get the Pig to crack open a second time randomly, so I don't think the concept is busted or a lie, but most likely its been partially patched out.

And yes I tried it with elites and the such. It was Lava LAnce Eruptor who actually broke it open...

I did it with Sky Diamond, Piggy Bank and Healing Elixir (the blue bottle). I had two players on, one was EE Slam Bam and the other is the Skylander I want to get the money for. All you do is break the legendary treasures, which I can do with one jumping punch from EE Slam Bam. Then immediately talk to Persephone (you can leave the gold, it doesn't go away), then cancel talking to Persphone (takes about 1-2 seconds). Then rinse and repeat about 10-15 times in 2 minutes. When you've got enough gold, collect it all and buy what you need.

I was wondering if there was a money trick this time around.

Agreed it's more of a glitch that will probably be patched in the future.

I'll probably avoid updating so I can use this method on up and coming figures. But if I need to update for an important fix or feature, I can always make a backup save file from scratch with no updates and use it when needed.

But with all gold set to on in portal master rewards, and on Nightmare, which grants an additional 30% rewards, breaking two only nets around 470 something gold. I guess I can add Healing Elixir and see if it somehow makes it faster, but with as low of gold that drops, I'm still having a hard time wrapping my hand around the idea you can get 10k in 2 minutes. I'll give it a shot and record a video using PS4.

Try also adding Mirror of Mystery. I haven't tried it myself with this method, but someone posted that it also works which would make 4 re-breakable legendary treasures. Group them together as possible and right next to Persephone to cut time needed to travel/break/return.

The key to making it work fast is breaking, immediately talk to Persephone, cancel, then repeat. Only stop to collect all the gold when you've accumulated what you need.

I stand corrected. I was able to time myself and got 12,256 for the Skylanders I was wanting by using EE Slam Bam in exactly 2 minutes. Need 11,360 to upgrade a Skylander without a Wow Pow with 10 sapphires.

I guess my problem was I was picking up all coins after each break. That's not what to do.

Use EE Slam Bam as second player do two punches as you make your way from Persephone to the Bank, Elixir, and Diamond, that way your third punch combo breaks all three at once.

Talk to Persephone asap, press cancel, rinse and repeat, leaving all coins laying around. At the two minute mark I stopped and collected what coins were laying around and ended up wit 12,256.

Forget what I said. This method is way faster, but requires EE Slam Bam and a second controller.

Now I'm going to nix the two minute timer and just get 16,880 so I can fully upgrade every Skylander that doesn't have a Wow Pow, nor Swap Force, and that 16,880 includes both paths.

Finally did this with an Elite Zook that was maxed out with an upgrade path!!!

Placed Sky Diamond, Healing Elixir, Piggy Bank, and Mirror of Mystery items in front Persephone, so right when you come out of talking with her, you're facing the items and just shoot to break the items.

This was on an Xbox One SSC 1.3.0.

Yeah i used Elite Chop Chop's Bone Brambler...i set the 4 in 2's so Chop Chop attack hits all with one press of the button. And Unreallystic..it takes a single hit of over 150 to brake them after the first hit.

Edit: I start with Slam Bam at the 2:52 mark in my video, I stop hitting the items at 4:52 and collect what money is on the ground.
