Well the lack of cards does bother me more than I thought it would, but I do rather like the bases, they were running out of colours to use as base colours as it is.... right?

Looking at the trim around the bottom of the packages these bases would have been Yellow....if they had them. I guess the engine bases are ok....but like the original's better.

And i'm remedying the card problem by making them like i did for the mini's and my Volcanic Vault....there in the Fandom Thread...since there not official they can't go here(SuperChargers Thread).

The bases really capture the theme of the series, as they're supposed to be each SuperCharger's Rift Engine. That's why I like them. Then again, I'm a bit of a Vorthos when it comes to things like this (Magic players will get that terminology smilie ).

I don't like them even if they are such an important part of the lore but they sincerely don't bother me as much as I thought the first time I saw them.

What I honestly don't like at all are the Undead, Dark, Tech, Earth and Light bases.
Undead doesn't even glow in the dark!

If you have a concept which worked for 4 games straight and you can effectively keep it going (as GaiaMemories said they had at least 6 more colors to use and as Phoenix_Lord pointed out SuperChargers indeed has yellow as its color) I just don't see why you would want to change it.

They can fit the lore as much as you want but they just look so out of the place compared to the rest of the figures.
I'm confident TfB will bring them (and hopefully cards too) back, though. smilie

They are tall enough to stand out.

Speaking of that I'm planning on buying a shelf to finally organize my collection and I won't definitely put SuperChargers on the front of each Element group: those solid gold abominations would be a punch in my eye each time I would look at them. smilie

They have to go somewhere with the bases. Only so many distinct colors left. They were just trying to break the cycle before they had to. Can always go back to colored rim with element base for a game or two then try something else.

With all the SC bases gold, at least they'll be able to do a silver for a 2nd SC game at some point or something to effect.

Again, the break away from colors had to come at some point.

You mean... An actual sequel to a sequel which is a sequel for the series...?

Like "Skylanders SuperChargers 2: Revenge of the Revamps" or "Skylanders SuperChargers 2: Skymiibos' Supremacy"...?

Nopy nopy nope.
Nothing personal against SuperChargers in particular but that gimmick has run its course.
I''ll be happy if they'll support vehicles but it's time to move onto something new.

Not to mention silver Rift Engines are already associated to Dark characters.
That was a pretty clever idea.

Undead bases DON'T glow in the dark now?

Geez, between that and the Magic/Light bases, they really just slapped the engine without caring. Sad part is they COULD make them look amazing with the toys, but it's so bland even compared to their ingame/comic designs.

Yeah... Was so disappointed when I found it out...

They could have indeed made them stand out more and better blend with the Element (especially with only 20 unique characters).
Completely engulf the Fire Engine with flames, cover the Life one with vines, make the Earth one come out of a dirt pedestal with crystals...
There is just so little of the Elements on the base... You almost can't see Stormblade's cloud from the front.

I found myself saying this for the third time with this game: good idea... Terrible execution...

And some of them even have their elemental energy's (or whatever it is coming out the back) colors change. For example, Legendary Astroblast's base has some translucent blue energy coming out the back, where as the normal one has white energy. I kind of like it, and I wish they would have done it to more of them, but at the same time, it makes no sense. Why would being legendary turn Legendary Astroblast and Roller brawl's bases that navy blue color, but not Legendary Jet vac?

It's only going to get worse with the next game. It's not like they would listen to or understand the preferences of the hardcore fans. It's either bail out of the franchise or be quiet and put up with it. Just like the unreleased yawn traps, we have zero control over how things pan out.

Yeah, I mean it's not like we ever got online, better story, better character design, or options to change controls(yes, not fully customizable, but baby steps). Screw Acti, they only listen to themselves!

Seriously, NO GAME nowadays survives without the feedback. Yes,it might still have dumb decisions and ignore said feedback, but the franchise is only doing well because they're not stagnating.

Support older figures, create new concepts and characters.
It's not that hard.

Short sighted?
V.V. has been short sighted for not actually understanding the potentials of traps which could have become a continuative side-line of collectables.
I simply don't like restrictions.
And create another Giants, SWAP Force, Trap Team, SuperChargers is as much restrictive as it can get.

Not making old figures compatible is developers' lazyness.
Doesn't have anything to do with the concept of the game.

The vehicles many people here are forking out $15 for might be the next "one and done" accessory. Activision's short-sighted innovation plans for the next game seem to also limit them for subsequent games as they struggle to properly incorporate the old gimmicks and are forced to give them purpose. I bet they'll find some use for the vehicles as magic items or Skystones or something because they feel they have to give them some utility while they move onto the next big money-making gimmick. Figures were easy enough to incorporate into new games, but giving "accessories" like traps, vehicles, and 2016 & beyond non-characters something useful to do with subsequent games is just digging a hole deeper year after year until the franchise dies...Activision will be laughing it all the way to the bank.

This right here. Traps being made useless *but* being able to buy additional items just to play as those villains was a bit much. Pretty steamed over what they did to the older items too, considering you see these items *in the actual vehicle sections of the game*. Over half of them don't even do anything when you place them around your pad. Even items V.V made themselves!

I don't like the bases. I would have been fine with them if there was simply a color layer at the very bottom. They could have still done the engine blocks and had the color too.

And running out of colors is not an excuse. The average human eye can distinguish between 256 shades of 256 hues. Sure, after about 12 games or so you'd have to start using hues that were closer to ones that had already been used, but that would be fine with me.

I mean, just look at the traps. There are 11 unique colors right there made out of the same sort of material they do the colored bases with. And there are plenty more easily distinguishable colors that could be used.

The bases are fine. I see superchargers as basically a next gen revamp or spin off so it makes sense for them to distinguish the superchargers from the rest.

If they looked like they used too Itd be confusing for kids and parents which skylanders were actually superchargers. Making the base an obvious engine makes it pretty clear.

I probly would've preferred the old design , but its not a big deal at all.

It's not hard for kids to tell Trap Team apart from Giants, though. The Superchargers all have something in their outift relating to piloting; and the gimmick-reposes will probably be the only version with different outfits.

Well, it doesn't need to look EXACTLY like a core base, maybe have them stand on a flat spark insignia over the base since it's supposedly the Superchargers symbol. Or maybe a spark effect since it seems to be their theme, whatever. It could've been subtle,is my point.

Bases? Not really, I didn't care for the physical toys much anyway and I like the idea of making each game's figures stand out in some way like this.

Cards? I wouldn't say it's ruining anything, but I certainly dislike it, since I enjoyed looking at the art on all of them in my binder. I know there's still art on the stickers, but they're so small and mismatched next to the cards.
