What do Traps do on the Wii version

The Wii portal has a trap slot but the 3DS version doesnt???Can anyone confirm what traps do???

Not much....you put a trap in when your chosing your vehicle and i little Trap logo appears under the stat box with what the Trap dose. Armor Boost, Acceleration Boost, Top Speed Boost...ect.
