I don't know if you really need one.

We had four different characters reach 2,000+ gold from just the first few chapters (before reaching the Academy) today. That seems like a huge uptick in gold earned from previous games to me.

Has anyone tried the Sky Diamond?

Sky Diamond just unlocks cosmetic stuff for the Academy.

Treasure isn't the thing we should be looking for an exploit for, it's Gearbits. All the vehicle upgrades are expensive and you're given so little Gearbits in each level that maxing out one vehicle could take awhile.

Are you unlocking your Emblems to gain additional Portal Master Ranks...

But really. I don't care about Gearbits. Honestly they are easy to get for me. I'm just having trouble with money and leveling up. Maybe because I have a lot of Superchargers to upgrade...

I saw in a Skylander Boy and Girl video, that with enough attacks, you can destroy the Sky Diamond when you place it in the Academy. It doesn't give you much, but if you keep placing it down and destroying it, you keep getting money.
It's a much longer process than Swap Force.

I noticed that money cap was bumped from 65000 to 65535. Still only using two 8-bit addresses in the chip to store the $$.

Little bit more $$ per figure though.

Play the game is the money trick. Make sure your Portal Master tree options are set to Gold whenever possible as well.

I'm going to start doing Gold Gain instead of XP gain.

In case you weren't aware, those powers aren't permanently locked--you can change them from one selection to the other whenever you're back at the hub. My wife and I stumbled upon that last night while poking around through the menus and were more than a little pleasantly surprised!

Well I will wait until next Portal Master Rank to choose that. I like leveling up because my characters MUSTTT be Level 20 lol

If you need some quick money then just toss down legendary treasures (especially the ones from your vintage items) and hit/use them. Most of them give money, and you can get a few thousand this way every day. There aren't actually that many Superchargers compared to Skylanders in previous games, so just doing this every time it lets you should be a good start. For older Skylanders just play an older game.

I think I found it
So get as many magic items from old games as possible
The Sky Diamond, Dragon's Peak, Sheep Wreck, Tower Of Time, Both Giants Battle Packs, Platinum Sheep, Battle Hammer are the ones I know work

Line them all up next to eachother and activate them (By either attacking them or pressing R on the Battle Pack Items)

Then go to your system settings and change the date by a day forward or back
Then repeat
You can do this forever even if you alternate between the same two dates.

As usual, if you are grinding out more money with the legendary treasures, load up a co-op player to also give a second Skylander the same amount of money.

That exploit would take too much time. Plus, can you call it an exploit when its just using all the magic items and then going to change the system settings? Then again I don't have the game as it isn't out in Europe so I can't try it for myself, but its definitely not an actual in-game exploit, more of a workaround from what it seems like.

It would would be more effective if the loading screens weren't super long
But it nets me 900-1200 coins

I've heard that the many items exploit mentioned here was fixed in an update to the game.

Although some people will disagree, money was never really quickly obtained in SC. I say it's slow because I expect something like Trap Team where you use a Chomp Chest and farm 3000 coins in about 2 minutes on the very first level of the game. Repeat 3 to 5 times and you have enough for any older Skylander to max out

Of course this doesn't help you with an actual SuperCharger. For those you basically need find a spot with many easy to get to treasure chests and set all your bonuses to money related ones and just grind over and over. I personally done the first few stages about 10 times for each SuperCharger Skylander in order get enough money to max out their abilities.

Perhaps Sky 6 will have a fast money get ability.

I never believed in that magic item trick, it never gave enough and I was too lazy as well. I always just went into the secret place in the first chapter and picked up every coin.

I play on my Wii U...but i have a XBox 360 i use for building up my figures money...the XBox 360 is not conected to the internet...so it never got the software update that removed the old money trick(Mirror of Mystery, Piggy Bank, Healing Elixir and Sky Diamond when you place them in the Academy next to Persephone)
