Found yesterday in a Store many extreme variations from Traps not only a bit darker or lighter. Extreme different colors then normal.
Clear White Water Traps, nothing blue to see, looks great like Crystal Skylanders: Angel, Axe, Flying Helmet
Magic Rocket, extremly lighter, looks more like clear pink for me.
Air Sword and Toucan, much lighter then normal. Also saw Jughead and Screamer much lighter from Air.
Are these official Variants, or are they missprints? For missprints I saw to much from them in this store. But I think these are Rarer then the normal colored Traps.
I don't like the lighter Air Traps or lighter Magic Traps, but bought them, because never saw them in another Store. The White Water Traps looks cool and the best choice I think.
Also exist more extrem color Variations from Traps? Not Legandary.
PS: Sorry about my bad english, I hope someone understand what I mean. I came from Germany.

Actually it's been mentioned here before about miscolored traps. People seem to think it's just bad quality control at this point in the game rather than a collectors item. There does seem to be a lot of them out there and not a whole lot of interest.

I've seen how this is caused.
The dye used for Traps is very light sensitive. Someone put a Water Trap on their car windshield and left it there for two weeks. They came back and it was completely clear. Don't buy any of these thinking that they're rare. eBayers are basically abusing this by leaving them out and claiming that they're chase variants, which is a lie.

No, I don't think so, because I bought them new official in a Store and the Paperback is not lighter, only the Traps inside the new looking box.
And they got more from the lighter ones and also some normal looking ones mixed in the same room and shelf. Ok, maybe the sun shines inside this store, but many Traps have normal color which also hanging in the sun and always the same Traps have the lighter colors. Not all Water Traps or others, just the same Forms. Only 3 Water Traps, 4 Air and 1 Magic Traps looks like these. Or are these older Traps, don't know which date they released. But I am not sure about the light sensitive and if the sun has done it here. Because many Traps at the same shelf looks normal there.

Here is the link about this from a few months ago. Personally I wouldn't mind owning a few of these but at the same time I wouldn't ever expect them to be highly collectable or in demand. It's just an interesting thing to own, like my Punk Shock that is missing gold paint on her weapon. No one really cares other than myself about that. LOL

I think Matteomax is trying to say that it's easy to re-create the clear traps, so they won't be collectible or worth anything. People are re-creating them and putting them on eBay saying they are rare variants. He's not saying that the ones in the store were purposefully made that way. But I also don't think they are considered official variants.
