Couldn't find any mention of this yet: Any update on increase on the Level Cap for this game?

It's still 20 but if a SuperCharger pilot his/her vehicle it can temporarily reach level 21.

It's in the Skyfamily footage, I think. They have a supercharged Hot Streak there with the UI on.

I really don't mind that the Skylanders' level only reach up to 20. It wouldn't be fair if their level reach up to more than that. Besides, it would take forever to level them up if their level got raised even higher.

The problem is the excuse and how fast you can level them up. Being too hard to balance enemies to the health increases doesn't make a whole lot of sense, you're going to dedicate a lot of time already to balance them to difficulty level unless you want people's experiences to be a mess. Just make them increase,say,20 health after level 20 through 25 or 30 instead of 50 or 100, there it'll take forever until the increase actually affects how they'll do against an enemy - but it's still a lucky small amount that might save you if you get in trouble.

And with level 20, those old characters you have already must've maxed out just by going through the story modes and challenges, now there's little incentive to use them unless you have a LOT of fun with them. Unlike the gold, you can't spend that into something worthwhile to have an excuse to get that back all over again(because thank Eon for infinite Locks and Skystone Cheats, if you feel bothered by the 65k after a while you can just mash buttons over either)

The whole level thing is over-rated. I'd rather be able to work on their other stats.

Levels are tied to max health,so it's a stat already.

They should add a new "xp bar" to fill when you reach level 20. When it is filled, you stay at level 20 but you get to choose a stats to increase passively on the character (health, armor, speed or criticial hit) and a mention somewhere that this character is "truly maxed".

Even better, they should give you that option every single level you reach, as TakeYourLemons suggested.

One stat every 20 levels would help balancing much better, once per level you could max out speed and probably break the game. But it's a really good idea,especially if this actually carries over unlike Heroic Challenge boosts.

It would be great if you could improve stats (other then health) by some other means then a hat, and you could easily put limits on it. As far as level max, it would be an improvement if they allowed you to level up, but didn't even improve your health. Any thing at all to give you some reason to play a figure.

Also, why not have the "level" of the skylander simply refer to experience, and NOT health? That way you could implement a "increase a stat every 20 levels" kinda thing and have a reason to keep playing and improving your skylanders. I guess I'm asking for too much here, otherwise they would've done something by now. If there are 5 stats that means 100 levels before the skylander is maxed, and level 100 would take at least 5 more games. Something along those lines. I get sad when a skylander has reached 20 because there's a built in disincentive to play with them anymore.

You'd also have a built in reason to play and buy the next game regardless of the gimmick. At the heart of it this game is about skylanders, not traps and not vehicles. I don't get why they can't improve the TTL aspect of our skylanders as an innovation. It would also go a long way in showing us they care for our purchases, instead of pushing more plastic down our throat as "must buys".

Probably they think the stat spread of the skylanders has to stay the same or something or the gameplay gets a little broken. But seriously,even with the area bonus glitch and something like Doom Challenge, you're still taking several hours if not days to max out more than two stats. And caps are always a good solution to the balancing issue.

With my small collection I don't have too much trouble with losing incentive to play as someone,but whenever I go through a level with my maxed S2 Hex I'm just like "oh man, it was fun and all, but that experience could've gone to someone in the 15s". If we could spend our experience, you'd have a REALLY good reason to keep grinding for experience on your leveled up guy.

Yeah, previous games would read the same data if it was the same attribute on the RFID chip. However I'm also pretty sure that they games were smart enough to have a "max cap" to enforce the level the game supports. It's why a level 20 skylander put into giants will always show max level 15. They have plenty of space to start a new stat that starts by copying the current "legacy level" into the new one that tracks this for future games. In short, this can be solved.
