I hope not, there are already too much cores in my collection anyway.

I hope yes but think no.

SuperChargers are more or less considered to be Cores both because they don't have a big size and any "special" feature in figure form if you don't consider the base and the racing-style, which I admit are quite hard to ignore.

However there seem to be more characters on the poster on the side of the Starter Pack so they might be hiding them for E3.
Don't know why but... Ok.

All ten returning core Skylanders will be reposed as SuperChargers with brand new abilities.

I think we're just getting 10 Superchargers, 10 older characters turned into Superchargers, and 20 vehicles. Of course that's not counting any unnanounced variants.
