I am very curious to know what will happen to traps when the next game comes out. I feel kind of like a buzzkill asking seeing as how they still haven't released all of the Trap Team figures yet, but it gnaws at me. Skylanders is pretty good at acknowledging traits of special skylanders as the series progresses (boxes requiring giants to open, swap force compatibility in Trap Team, etc.) but what about traps? Assuming that they introduce a new portal, will they acknowledge traps at all? Would they use some other peripheral device or would the new portal incorporate traps? Will they just keep the same portal? How would that work with villains and potentially swapping them out in the game? I'm curious to know other people's thoughts, comments, and opinions. I just don't want to invest too much money into collecting them if they don't pan out.

Find out for a few months and wait. I'm pretty sure there will be pretty consistent questions on this until they answer. I had this same question last year when these traps were announced--so how about that for buzz kill? On the plus side most have only invested a minimal amount--but I'm sure they would like to have a residual ability to sell these traps in the upcoming years. I'm fairly confident had they answered positively on this question (they have been asked directly if 5 and beyond would support traps) that many would have purchased more traps.
I have the popcorn waiting...

We should start some kind of betting pool on if traps will be supported in Sky5. I'll put up $5 for my pick. :D

Edited that post enough there GhostRoaster?...lol..im just kidding. I to have the same questions...thinking they will since there are 6 traps of each and only 3 elements use all 6....and theres only 3 Light an Dark....sure they will add another 3 to each. Who knows they might even it all up to 10....that would be another +46 villians to trap.
And most of all when they make the new portal they fix the problem with the present portal not liking the Gaints....having to have them jammed against the white ring(not to mechin' all figures need to be somewhat close to it)for them to work is a pain... |

The plastic is actually a special carefully timed bio-degradable. It has a 12 month life span after which it reduces to a small pile of dust.
When all the traps disappear it removes the need for the new game to support them. They will however be available a virtual DLC items for $14.99 each. The villains to go in them are then a bargain $11.99 as DLC. |

Don't give Acti ideas,Pyrofer, for the love of Eon don't let them think digital DLC will ever work for this game.

I thought the traps are just to be used as a necklace after Trap Team. They even already made the necklace for them.

i doubt they'll carry over to the next game or maybe they will have a small element to them. not sure i'll be diving in for the expensive editions this time for dark ones. gonna wait if i'll even bother. only went after the variants for trap team, the 8 pack of traps and several of the figures so yeah not really looking like probably many are to even invest in the new one yet.

Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon. |

I was on a board where it was not documented how many times I edited the post. After 20k posts after 4 years habits are tough to break. I think I on average modify a post 3 times if you look closely. ^wgeorge: ROFLMAO. I thought I could take them to get the keys modified so that they work on my house. Just think of the utility...

They better carry over I didn't spend my money for a one time use and if it doesn't carry over they will never get another dime from me.

I decided on day one that I would only get one trap of each element so that way I wouldn't be waisting too much money. But... I do have an extra water trap (for the variant). I also want to get the variant traps but can;t seem to ever find them so whatever. I have a feeling, since they keep drastically changing along with the development company, that the traps won't work again until sky6 which would be made by toys for bob again so yeah....my 2 cents

I honestly won't be all that disappointed if traps aren't in the next version. I haven't got all that attached to them, and history shows we (the kids and I) don't spend much time with the older figures. I somewhat hope they don't just so the franchise stays popular, and somewhat hope they don't if that means more new content.
