Thought I'd make another one because the other one closed. Anyway, who has found any new Factory Errors in Trap Team?

Look at my High Five Error!

got a skylander that seems a little off? post pics here!

my series 1 spyro's head placement is a little off, which from what i've seen on ebay, is a common thing for many series 1 spyros

here's some pics of him as compared to my correctly posed elite spyro

[User Posted Image]

for a slightly more unsightly error, my series 1 camo's paintjob on his eye is misaligned

[User Posted Image]

and while not an error with the toy, the card that came with my dark edition blast zone shows his normal variant art instead of the dark version

(my dark edition also didn't come with the steel case, which i'm still kinda peeved about >:I )

I saw a Head Rush in Target last week missing a horn, with no evidence of damage to the package. So I assume that's a factory error.

Nitro Head Rush seems to be somewhat troublesome in quality. I picked one up yesterday and had to go back to the store because the helmet was actually lifted up off her head with a noticeable gap. The Legendary Bushwhack I got also had to go back because it barely worked unless pressed right up against the front edge.

The tablet edition I got had a completely non-functional game pad. And to make matters worse, if you read their support "agreement" they basically say "you can't sue us if you so much as play the game at all" and nothing is our fault. And their replacement policy now requires you to return the item before they even consider sending you a replacement (no cross ship), and it takes upwards of three weeks before they will send it out. That's great getting a game/figure and doing what they ask and contacting them for a defect and finding out that after you spend a few days sending pictures and docs you can then wait close to a month before your child can play with their toy.

I've dealt with more Skylander defects in the past month than the first three years of playing the franchise. And their solution is apparently to make getting support even more difficult. If you like factory defects, I have a feeling Activision is going to make you very happy in the future. And those of us that expect quality very unhappy.

Agreed. The one that I imported from AUS has a nasty chip out of her helmet, and her teeth are painted terribly.

Are a lot of people having these kinds of issues? I never had a functionality issue with anything I bought including Trap Team stuff. In any case, that's a shame. Sorry to hear you had these things happen. If this is widespread, I would suspect a quality control issue going on at a factory who produces the toys. I would think Activision would be angry at whomever they hired to make the toys if they have too many customer complaints. I wonder if they will have another company manufacture the toys next time...

To the contrary, I think this is expected. Activision has likely been trying to cheap down the cost of making the figures, I've never had a problem before but I've seen a lot of complaints this go round - AND they used to just send out a new figure for defects quickly, now they have a long process that could take weeks, I believe it is tailor made to discourage support requests. They probably feel they made them too good and they don't want them to last years and cut down on the used market, not to mention making more money up front.

I'm hopeful that the people Activision has watch forums see this and tell their bosses "Yes, we can tell you guys are cheaping out on the figures, and if you want us to continue to treat these as collectibles, they should be made to a collectible standard of quality". Like them or not Amiibos and Infinity blow Skylanders out of the water on figure quality and durability.

Why would Activision suddenly want to save money now and not before?

I just wonder if there's any evidence that figures are breaking more now than they used to. It feels wrong to bash a company over what might be pure conjecture or just someone having a string of bad luck. Additionally, I don't see how you could be sure that amiibos and Inifity figures have a lower defect rate. Both of those series of figures have plenty of their own defects that you can find easily on a search of various forums or just Google.

By the way, here is a direct quote from the first Disney Infinity defect thread I clicked on when doing a Google search: "I really hope Disney gets their act together and focuses some resources on quality control for future figures but I'm not holding my breathe" - I would link the thread, but it might be against forum rules. Just want to point out that pretty much every toy collector site has people who think that the quality is going down the drain on whatever figures they collect.

To lighten the mood:
