Go Lightcore !!!! Go BLUE LIGHTNING !!
She has a better pose , cute Ingame glow variant and of course FLASH BANG damage which really shines on nightmare mode . If we never see S2 Smolderdash , her flash bang will be her only "Wow Pow" skill . I should mention the LED is a bit weak <might just be my one who knows>

I think the pose for the normal version is better but everything else on Lightcore is better so you decide.

I think the pose for normal looks way cooler,
but then again, LC looks cool too |

The pose on the regular version is much better and she's actually carrying her whip there. That pose also makes a much better reflection on her abilities. She's holding her torch and shooting out a sun on the regular pose, ready to use numerous attacks- whereas on the LightCore she completely drops the torch and sun to show off her dash ability, which isn't used so prominently that the whole figure should be based on it.
Honestly, how often do you look at a figure while they're on the Portal? That's the only time you'll see the LightCore effect, and Smolderdash's LightCore pose is pretty bland, especially in comparison to the regular.

Thats a 100 damage per monster for anyone within blast radius . If there is 5 monsters , your blue lightning just dished out 500 damage .
Even one on one , thats still 100 more damage then normal Smolder Dash .

I got the regular Smolderdash a few days ago. I like that pose better than the lightcore one, for the same reasons Arc stated. If you don't care about the pose though, and just want the lightcore benefits, then go with Lightcore.

But is it worth picking such a worse-looking figure? I guess that's up to the TC to decide, but in Nightmare Mode, 100 damage is nothing and you only use that LightCore blast once a level anyway (and it goes to waste in Survival, arguably where damage matters most, since there are no enemies at the beginning of the level). Smolderdash is no slouch when it comes to damaging enemies and her attacks have good AoE anyway. In-game functionally, she definitely is better than the regular, but it's by a minimal amount and I think figure-wise she's awful against the regular (even considering the light effects, which I think are underwhelmingly dim). TC, if your store has a Portal display, maybe you can take the LightCore to one and see wether you like her light effect.

Wow i never thought regular SD had a superior pose to lightcore SD . I much prefer her lightcore pose . That pose says "I am oozing confidence and power" . Each to their own I guess . I dont like the LED . Its way too weak .

Oh thats not a problem . I noticed if you start a level as a lightcore , you can activate your Flash Bang once anytime by lifting them off and putting them back on the portal . If the price gap between regular and lightcore is too wide , I say buy the regular .
