How many of each Eon's Elite are being made? [CLOSED]

Eon's Elite are said to be limited, but I haven't seen any numbers listed as to how many are being made.

I looked at the back of my boxes, near the bottom, and lightly embossed on it was a number. Its possible these are individual numbers placed on each box to number the manufacture run. Both of Mine were marked in the 3000 range.

What numbers do your boxes say? We can at least see what the highest number we have among us.

This is a damn good question! I too am wondering... Because they always claim something is rare, then I see tons and tons of them!!

Nope. Those numbers are not the "amount produced." They are Factory ID numbers, confirmed by Toys for Bob. E3142 and E3143 are different factories/sections of a factory.

A grand total of 17 Elite Spyro have been sold on EBay...mostly to international buyers packaged with Elite Chop Chop as we know availability is unreliable outside of the US. Most of the recent ones have been selling close to retail. Not a "hot seller" by any means. I might bite once GameStop realizes how overpriced these are & clears them out for $10 or less, but knowing them, they will try to put it on "sale" for $20 and then $15 before any sort of deep discount or fire sale.

In countries with no Gamestop / EB Games I presume as they are easy to find here in Oz...

They are doing 1 of each of the elements of S1.....im just guessing here...i would thing they will not make no more then 500 of each, since they want them to mainly be collection type items/figures do to the cost of them....maybe 1000...and thats pushing it.

I reckon more as there are over 380 EB Games stores in Australia alone. Even my smaller local store got a couple of each in.

Even if we don't factor in how many stores there are in many other countries (as not sure if they got them in or not), we are looking at an easy 1000 for Oz alone, me thinks..

There's no way that could be right. With 50 states in the USA, that would mean each state would only get 10 (20 if it were up to 1000). Considering I can walk into most any Gamestop around here and see these on a shelf, I'd say it's waaaaaaaaaaay higher than that.

Good point chaosworrier...the ultra rare clears i think they made around 2000 or so of them ...not to sure. And mantez there is no way they are going to make 50000 of them.....the run of other figures don't even brake 10000. And they want these to be rare like the clears. So i would think they would do no more then a run of 2000 on each Elite Element.

Who knows.. i could be wrong...maybe they think a lot of people will buy them not caring about the high cost and do a high run on each one.

So GameStop operates over 6600 stores in multiple countries according to the following link...

http://investor.gamestop.com/m...&d=1&id=1983711

Assuming each store gets 4-5 each, that's somewhere between 25000 and 35000. As I mentioned when these were first put up for preorder, they were probably using the number of Elite Spyro preorders online and in store to gauge how many to make in each run. GameStop is in this to make some money and capitalize off of customers, so it's very clear as to why they've kept it hush hush as to the production numbers. If they really wanted to make a true and proper collectors item, they would have been up front about how many were being made when Elite figures were announced and even possibly stamping them (like #1389 of 20000). As to how many were made, it's a moot point to speculate right now as these figures are readily available. I'm more interested in production numbers of figures which sold out quickly and were hard to find like Granite Crusher and Molten Hot Dog...maybe even Magna Charge.

My local Eb games has 10 of each E.spyro & E.chop chop on shelf this morning that doesn't include what they have already sold. Regular figures would be producing over 100000 each.

Just look at this article Skylanders Giants sold 500000 starter packs it's first 2 weeks. That 500000+ Tree Rex figures out and about.

After some thought, I realized the obvious, Collectors Item doesn't always mean rare or hard to find..

I know it's a different company and different type of thing, but Mattel has said in the past they have to produce like 5,000 action figures to break even at retail price. Since these are essentially the same thing as a regular skylander with a different package, the price point being about twice as much would suggest that there's probably about 2,000 or 2,500 of these.

Sorry, but that is false logic - they will produce as many as the market can carry as their ambition is to make huge profits, not merely break even.

These are in noway , shape, or form rare. They've been on sale at gamestop since release day and will continue to rot on shelves and warehouses until a significant price drop is allowed to meet what they are really worth. I would say $15.00 is a better price for these. Although , even at that price, I can still see decent stock of these collecting dust.

I think 10,000 for each would be a sensible amount. mastermc54 has a good point; each store should have gotten at least a case. If there's 6 in a case, we're probably looking into the 35K range for each. That should be a good number for them to sell through and also keep some "rarity" to them. Although, they could have a ton of these in some warehouse somewhere, and for all we know they could be as common as any old giants S2 drobot lol
