Karianna posted this topic on the same day that video was uploaded, and to which only has twelve views. She claims that an independent studio she was working on were creating a Crash Bandicoot x Spyro the Dragon crossover of some sorts, similar to the amazing PlayStation One titles. The concept from the video is apparently one years old, although the game would be much further ahead than what it looks like if it truely was. Not only that, but the documents were posted on deviantart as well.

Karianna also goes as far as claiming that the independent studio were trying to acquire the rights from Activision, but were stern.

Yup, confirmed fan game.

This isn't how game development works, at all. I'm even going as far as believing that the youtube account was hers (she claims to have been working in an independent game company). Also note, the video only has twelve views. It certainly would have blown out by now, no?

Not to mention, there were plans to sell this independent title. Obviously Karianna or whoever else was working on this had absolutely no idea how game development and purchasing licenses worked.

I'm not saying much because its pretty self explanatory. The game isn't official, and Karianna was working on it with a group of friends. Obviously, it was cancelled because the game would have gotten a C&D letter (it probably already did, who the hell knows? It was upright canceled in development with nothing to show.

edit: The keyward here is "Independent". Her and her game studio (if that is to be believed, which I most certainly am sure it is) would have NEVER gotten the rights to develop a Crash Bandicoot x Spyro the Dragon game and sell it on multiple platforms.

If anyone in the general section was slightly interested in this fan game believing it was real (talking about anyone who viewed the topic), then you are mistaken. The game isn't official, it is not in development, and will never be reinstated.

I'd also like to mention, Activision has been INCREDIBLY shy about Crash Bandicoot recently. They even pulled any notice of him from their websites, and Sony has been playing their userbase hardcore with Crash Bandicoot hints in nearly anything. It sounds like a wild guess, but I honestly do see Crash Bandicoot coming back to PlayStation, exclusively. Maybe not Naughty Dog, but some other studio. Activision, nor Sony, will not make a comment about it. Insiders on GAF have even made subtle hints towards his return. As for Spyro? Never. He is a Skylander now.

Just one example of Sony hinting, I'm sure a few have seen this.



OT:Weirdly enough, I was a huge fan of both series, but slightly prefered Spyro growing up. Looking back and playing through the first three of both series now? Crash Bandicoot is ultimately better.

This is kinda pointless, you could have just pointed it out in that topic instead of making a new one in a unfitting section. It was already suspected fake by a quite a few users in the topic as well.

I just think its kind of ridiculous that she would claim that a brand new crash game was canceled, as if it were official. my apologies.

It's fine. I think she might have just been mistaken by false information. Maybe she took some info about a fan-made Crash/Spyro game as info about an actual one and got excited before thinking.
