MrW had an avatar of Anders Breivik for about four months and I don't remember anybody saying much about it.
But now, come to think of it, I don't believe that a mother of one of those children he shot to death would've been too happy about that. We should ban all Breivik avatars from dS.

What about Mao Zedong? He was at least just as bad as Hiter when you take a look at what he did. Any chinese person would be reasonably offended because of an avatar like that. Ban Mao Zedong Avatars as well, just to be sure.

Or how about Josef Stalin? He annexed and oppressed all baltic countries, invaded Finland (more like tried to) and causes the death of millions, a big portion of which were his own citizens.
People shouldn't punch jokes about something like that, let's say no to Stalin avatars too.

And if you want to look at the all-time champion of killing, invading and offending others (and compare him to some puny Hitler), you can't help but to stand in awe of the one and the only, Genghis Khan.
He was truly a mean man. A crazy, crazy killer. A power-hungry barbarian. He unified the most land anyone has ever unified before or after by conquering and slaying his enemies mercilessly. Hell, I would probably have to get outright Ripto'd if I made an avatar of him.

Or wait, Genghis Khan doesn't offend you? A sight of Stalin doesn't make you feel mad? You don't get that unpleasant tickle in your gut whenever you catch a glimpse of Mao Zedong?

That's right. It's all subjective.

It goes without saying that you shouldn't offend others and it's not like I'm going to upload a picture of führer under my username, but seriously..
This forum has had more trouble from avatars created from cropped images of My Little Pony porno than all the dead dictators of the world combined.

Osama Bin Laden is only really known because the blame from 9/11 was put on him. He might have very well been the one behind the strike, but we don't know.
He has claimed responsibility for many terrorist attacks though, so yeah, he was a global criminal. Not so much of a dictator though.

People (all around the world, but mostly americans) think Osama was the devil himself because he received so much media attention.
This is similar to what happened with Hitler, though the atrocities that he commited were far more severe. People are so fanatical about hating him; Hitler this, Hitler that, "Hitler the antichrist".
Even saying his name can provoke agression, but in the end he was just ruthless, ambitious dictator. He doesn't even stand out from his colleagues by his actions a lot, a lot of people just waged war against him on many fronts so he became hated all around.

So like I said, the same thing happened with Osama. People that had never seen him, never been endangered by him were roused against him. He was made into the enemy that everyone needed to hate.
And you can see how effective that "brainwashing" has been. Hitler and Osama, both dead, still hated by people who hardly even read history books.

Also, one thing to know about Osama Bin Laden is that he was trained and armed by the USA in times of the Cold War to act against the Soviet Union. I guess it didn't feel as bad when you weren't the one that was being opposed.
