Since this game involves Spyro getting stranded in a new realm, does that mean the supporting cast will be entirely new? Or do you think some of the old cast will pop up somehow? If so, how do you suppose they'll get involved?


Come to think of it, I didn't see Sparx anywhere in the trailer. Is Spyro gonna be completely on his own this time?

Sparx was addressed in an upcoming interview by Canadian Guy Eh (he teased it in on a livestream), apparently Paul Yan mentioned that Sparx's absence in the trailer ties into the story. So he will almost certainly make an appearance.

My prediction is that Sparx will be captured or something but you will save him within like the first hour or two of the game and will represent some kind of upgrade, likely for his gem collecting range.

In terms of other characters, I expect we might see Elora and Hunter at least. Hunter even found is way to Legend of Spyro and is generally in classic Spyro game after Spyro 2. Elora was playable in Crash Team Rumble, with a unique moveset that essentially gave her defining abilities that she never had before. Spyro will be the only playable character, but I think I could see Elora assisting somehow with magic.

In general, while Spyro is stranded in a new world and is trying to get home, this also means his friends are likely trying to get him home on their end, too.

The more interesting possibility for me though, is the new world thing feels like a perfect setup to introduce Legend of Spyro characters into the classic verse. Characters like Cynder and Ignitus could simply exist in this new world and that's how they are introduced (I don't think it will be the literal Cynder or Ignitus or whoever else from LoS with the exact same backstories, just a new version of the characters for the Classic verse). Toys For Bob have been receptive to adding in nods to LoS in the past, Reignited even had a Cynder easter egg in the credits, so it feels very much like they know that people want to see that. They also mentioned that they want to be the "stewards of Spyro" going forward and want to be able to pull from all of the lore of the series.

Sparx will certainly return, no doubt. I’m confident that Elora, Hunter and Bianca will be there, and not so confident but very very hopeful that the Professor and the playable friends from YOTD will return, too

I miss a majority of the original continuity cast, I hope we see many familiar faces. It would be a bit weird if popular characters like Hunter, Elora, the Professor or Bianca did not show up in this.

It's not a huge priority, but I'd love to see Sheila, Agent 9, Bentley & Sgt. Byrd return as well. I can understand if they don't all show up.

Not getting my hopes up high for it, but would be great if they took this opportunity to introduce Cynder into this universe. She's the most popular thing to come out of the Legends series and far as I know the fanbase still loves her. I personally still have a lot of love for her and would like to see her, especially if this series really is here to stay.


Hunter and the OG crew of course would always be nice too.

I'd love Flame and Ember to show up!! Cynder would be cool too but Flame and Ember are closer to "classic" and would probably be very easy to work in as just little (slightly less little now lol) dragon friends for Spyro.

I'd also obv love Hunter to come back, I can't imagine Spyro without him. The Professor and Blink would be cool as well.

Hopefully we can see some of the older dragons again too.

Oh I almost forgot about Flame and Ember, yeah bringing them back would be cool, especially since we didn't get to see much of them back in A Hero's Tail. Any nods to A Hero's Tail characters would make me happy, it's still my favorite.

Cynder actually sounds like a pretty good bet. She's the only character aside from Spyro and Sparx to get carried over to the Skylanders games, and Toys for Bob always seemed really into the idea of dragons as a fantasy race, considering how they were prominently featured in Skylanders (same goes for elves...wonder if we'll see any of those added in here...). Wouldn't be surprised if Spyro comes across a whole new community of dragons out in this new place he's wound up in, with Cynder being one of them.

Not sure if its a nod, but I noticed a dark purple gem-like thing in the game play next to the campfire that...kinda resembles a dark gem from A Hero's Tail? Its only speculation, but...that was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Seeing Cynder, Flame, and Ember would be a dream come true. Especially since Flame and Ember get like...NO recognition at all. Even in newer fanarts, I feel Flame is obscure and Ember is only known because "she has the hots for Spyro" which...ya know. Is crazy to think about now, since we have Cynder.

I expect Elora and Hunter and the likes to make a return in some way. Cynder, Flame, and Ember are just me hoping to see what I like to call "the core 4" finally be in the same game as each other.

I'd like to see at least the core gang return outside of Spyro and Sparx. Hunter, Bianca, The Professor, maybe even a few Elder dragons.

If there are gems involved, there will be Moneybags...

i sort of have a theory that they're going to use the new realm as an excuse to reintroduce some of the post-PS1 characters into that era. ember and flame as developed characters would be nice... gonna pull a wildcard and also predict that we'll get a new iteration of a skylanders character. let's say eruptor.

WAIT YES ME TOO!! i don't know if i believe he'll come back per se, though i think it's interesting to note that they changed ripto's death scene to not show him falling in lava, especially now with the context that toys for bob had the idea for this game while making reignited and sprinkled hints to it in that trilogy. i actually heavily theorize that we're going to go to the realm that ripto came from! it would give an excuse to reintroduce characters like cynder, ember, and flame, as well as adding more women to the dragons lineup since they wanted to do that in reignited but decided against it. after all, ripto must have a reason to hate dragons, right?

It only seems to state that the fairies bring the eggs, not that they themselves make them. I also wouldn't really expect something like that to remain canon either, especially since it's never brought up in-game as far as I'm aware. Still never knew any of that, though, so that's pretty cool to learn.

Yeah, that's interesting af. It has to have been over 20 years since I even glanced at the game manual, so it's all news to me lol

Maybe it takes the dragonesses those twelve years to gestate, so they migrate away to be pregnant n stuff, and then the fairies bring the eggs over to the baby daddies to raise 'cause the mommas have done their time. Or somethin'.

Sparx will be there, got to be. Sure Zoe the fairy will be back. Hoping to see Red Dress Fairy (from first Spyro game renew one, not original one) and fauns from Fracture Hills.

I think anyone in Spyro 1-3 is fair game but after that it might be kinda slim? Looking kinda to how they handled Crash 4, with a hard reset back to the ps1 trilogy and working off of there, I am expecting kind of a similar approach to this game. Maybe some nods here and there. Surely a skylanders cameo given who is developing it.

Personally would love to see Cynder make a comeback.
