This has always been a heated topic in the Spyro fandom lol. So lets discuss! How are you guys feeling about it?

Personally, I really like it. It feels like a slightly more grown up version of Spyro, which I believe is what Toys for Bob intend it to be. One thing I was noticing (and maybe I'm just crazy or too Legend of Spyro-pilled) but I really feel like they took some inspo from the Dawn of the Dragon design. The eyebrow lines, wing shape and colour, way his leg scales are designed, the orange appearing in his head crest and the purple part of his horns. IDK It's probably me clutching at straws, but I just really like these new parts, even if it's not the actual inspiration !

Not much else to say imo since he's so similar to the Reignited style. It feels like an enhanced version of that model that was made with a lot more creative freedoms. This is supposedly a sequel to the original trilogy, so it makes sense he looks this way. I think most people would be happy with that rather than another whole reboot.

I like it, I’m glad they didn’t make him a full grown adult or even elder and i really like that they’ve kept his Reignited design

I think it'll take a little getting used to, but I really like it! Feels like a natural progression of his Reignited design without straying too far from it. And yeah, it does look like they took a bit from his DotD design. In fact, I dare say what little they've shown of the game world looks like TLoS with a Reignited paint job, too.

I love it, looks like Spyro to me.

And yeah the design and game itself does almost give a sliiiight DOTD feel, just a little.

I've grown older and not as picky about Spyro designs

I do like the membrane connecting to the hips, and also that his tail is like a mix of all its previous shapes

Not the biggest fan, but I definitely don't hate it. At last Spyro finally looks like... well, an actual dragon again.

Love the shape of the tail spike but I need to have uhhh a word with whoever made that decision with his head spines.

I believe they confirmed that Spyro is older in this one, to justify his ability to fly and his larger wingspan.

Overall it's one of my favourite Spyro designs already. Basically just "Reignited design but older". If I had to nitpick it, I would have made his snout a bit sharper, like the classic games, but that's a personal preference of mine, and it's a nitpick I had with the Reignited design as is.

The head spines at the front took a moment to get used to, but have grown on me, mainly because they weirdly remind me of Rayman's hair, lol.

I also think this is just the most "heroic" he's ever looked. Really like the shot in the trailer of him going from playfully flying around to locking in when he sees the dark island.

It should've been a 1:1 port of the 2011 Spyro's Adventure model.

i think his head spines are kinda neat actually they remind me of his design on the japanese boxarts for the gba games! plus i feel like a lot of spyro fan designs and redesigns do that little cowlick hair-type thing with his spines...

I've tried to be that optimistic but I just cannot get behind his Skylanders design, man. He looks too... goblin-y. And even though I have an irreplacable nostalgia for the Legend era, I wish his DotD model didn't look like it was 3D printed lol

Don't get me wrong though, I love the purple boy in all his iterations. I definitely don't have a single qualm with his ARB model. Cute lil mans <3

this is how i feel as well! even when there are critiques i have for certain designs - i don't even think his OG design is necessarily perfect - i still love him. and that's the same case here, there are a few minor nitpicks i have but overall i'm excited to see a new take on him :)
