Quote: Drek95Still, I can’t really understand why they are holding off the announcement of a PC and Switch version when the game already releases on a console which never saw the originals even in its former iterations.
There’s no surprise, not after Crash at least.
Perhaps they don’t want to announce it until they are almost finished, so that it won’t be too long between the reveal and the release.
The reason they likely haven't announced a PC or Switch port was simply because TfB already had their hands full with the massive game itself and making it work on Xbox and PS4. Adding two more systems, one of which will have to be downgraded in some aspects, would just be too much. Yeah, they could have gotten more studios to do the porting, but that would have added to the budget. It's likely cheaper to just have TfB to do all ports when they are able to.
Besides, having Spyro on Switch and PC encourages double dipping for people with multiple consoles and both are perfect for it. PC has the specs,(And even modding), while Switch has portability aspect.
The more I think about it, with all the glitches and issues the game has (while still being very good) I'm somewhat relived the PC and Switch ports are coming later. It gives TfB time to fix up it's issues. I still plan to get it tomorrow (Hoping to get a PS4 soon to follow), but once it comes to Switch, my PS4 copy may not be touched ever again. I'll have other games by then, so I'm not throwing the console away though.
