Fuzzy, or more like clay like the above fan made renders of characters. It's just the art style that seems to suggest that, but until we see some furred characters I couldn't say.

True, but the difference here is that this track starts off with the first game’s main titles theme, while the one used for Crash’s trailer didn’t have anything to do with the game’s soundtrack at all.

Might simply be a mashup or a small reference, though.

Looking at r/Spyro, I'm surprised about how specific they want things. Some I understand like colors being closer to the original (I'd like that too), but some like Nestor and Sparx's (Just needs a teeny bit of work) new designs. Classic Spyro fans are some of the most Nostalgia hard I have seen. These are remakes, not remasters, let's let them change things a up a bit visually.

It's as someone said on the other thread, they don't want a remake, they want the EXACT same game with better graphics. Thank god most people noticed how unreasonable that thought process is.

The subreddit also took its time to keep on insulting LoS fans and Skylanders as usual because omg no one likes these games, so not touching that with a ten foot pole. Come to DS, we bicker but we get along.

Wait, are we talking about the same thing? I'm thinking of the dramatic instrumental music from the reveal trailer, which was at least used in a Skylanders trailer awhile ago. Or it gets used in a lot of trailers period if I misremembered that. Either way, it's not likely music we'll be hearing in the games.

Every other Skylanders reveal had original music, and they don't follow the flow of the action. This one is a licensed APM track.

The trailer music was made by an independent musician who was commissioned to compose the track specifically for the trailer. Says as much in the description for the musician's own upload of the trailer theme. It's probably not gonna be the main menu theme.

I would think they will make the menu just like N. Sane Trilogy's. It's a combination of all three game's title screens, and the appropriate game's theme song plays while highlighting it.

Yeah, I read the description afterwards, but thanks for pointing it out nonetheless. smilie

In terms of faithfulness and attention to detail I’m really appreciating what I’ve seen so far, but there are some adjustments to be made in my opinion.
I’ll definitely elaborate more in the next few days, but while I probably won’t notice certain changes made obvious by comparison videos, there are differences I won’t be able to ignore (such as Beast Makers’ World looking more blue than green).

That obviously falls under the “easy last minute fix” category, like N. Sane Trilogy shown us and hoping TfB will be just as good at listening to constructive criticism, but there might be other things which aren’t as quick to fix.

I personally hope that they keep the individual title screens for each game. Unlike Crash, where the title screens didn't have anything going on beyond the opening to it, Spyro had actual stuff going on and I'd be sad if they completely removed them.
(And, tbch, I was sad that they removed the Crash title screens as well)

How is that bad? I personally think it looks really nice with the blue that they used, especially because of the water and the trees in the background. If anything, it's a major improvement over the nasty version from the original game. :/


Yeah, I have this feeling that they will get rid of the main menu start ups for each Spyro game, I reckon they'll have a cutscene showing PS1 Spyro, and then he turns into the PS4 Spyro, and then you'll get your selection of games at a menu.

Also, I really like the look of Beast Makers', you can't expect everything to be the same. People really need to have an open-mind when comparing these to the old ones. There's gonna be differences, and I feel that these differences add more of a "mood" or "feel" and that's what the old ones missed out on, now that's not a bad thing either, because in the PS1 Spyro's, you kind of had to use your imagination a little bit.

Yeah, I agree. Kind of strange really considering that Spyro 1 had more development time than 2 and 3. But I think they spent more time just developing the engine, rather than levels, or mechanics.

Maybe Spyro 2 and 3, might be more difficult to impress you, if you feel that those two games aren't as empty. Of course we don't know yet. But now we know sort of what to expect from the trailer.

The model and texture quality between Spyro 1 and Spyro 3 really surprises me, tbh. I'm surprised it improved so much despite being on the same console, same engine and only a 2-3 year difference between them.

All three Spyro games released only one year apart. So, Spyro 1 was 1998, 2, was 1999, and 3, in 2000.

I heard that when Insomniac was working on Spyro 3, they felt a lot of pressure from Universal, and that could be one of the main reasons why they wanted to work directly with Sony. You can even tell by the end of Spyro 3, that things were cut out of the game, like a cutscene before Spyro and the Sorceress fight, and the missing whirlwind in Midnight Mountain to take you to the secret island.

Let's just hope that Activision have learnt not to rush developers into making games, because that can only lead to crap.

TBH the most interesting aspect of N. Sane Trilogy, to me, was seeing how they adapted the models. The entirety of Crash 3 was what I was excited to see in HD, and I think I'm excited to see the entirety of the Spyro series with updated graphics, too.

I'm getting the purse/wallet, the figure and the mug! God I hope they ship to Canada.

I've been looking at Crash merch on Amazon and it's ridiculously expensive. $40 for a shaped mug, $35 for a purse and $50-$60 for the christmas sweater!
Can anyone guess at how much the figure will cost?

Probably the same as the Elders, having a base and altering it for each type of dragon+acessories. You can see another elder in the Toys For Bob website in a photo, and it seems he has the same anatomy as Nestor.

And I find it hillarious considering that YOTD ended up being my favourite, and I think the general favourite as well, despite that. Just goes to show that they did really well despite that. I look forward to seeing the remake since the common complaints towards YOTD, like the bad controls on the other playable characters, can get fixed in the remake.

In the "He growl, he pounce" pics in 'Toasty', I honestly think that's supposed to be in Gnasty's Loot. Unless they added a portrait of Gnasty in Toasy's world, that's Gnasty's Loot.

Wonder if they'll get rid of the hover mechanic and just let Spyro grab ledges instead? Becuase you can't hover in the first game, and this would make it consistent for 2 and 3, or they could just let Spyro hover in the first game, but that could break the game, since the original levels were built without the hover in mind, this will be interesting, and I only just thought of this just now.

I mean, they didn’t add the slide into the remaster of Crash 1, so I doubt that they’d do it for this.

You can tell that they're purple here, it's just that the black pupils are overly large for some reason. The PS1's limitations also made it hard to do good eyes, so...

Well Hunter does teach the hover to Spyro in Summer Forest, so it kind of makes sense.
