Currently constantly checking his Twitter account as well as Resurrect Fortesque, JumpButton and Spyro the Dragon (a bit too much maybe but hey, it’s Spyro, it’s now or never) and boy am I getting excited over nothing. smilie

My problem is people answering with Spyro comments, GIFs and images and them not even hinting at denying the announcement.
It’s that awful situation where what is the most exciting for you might not be the most exciting thing around.
I’m kinda having fun though, so not gonna complain.

Well, I guess this pretty much confirms (again) that Spyro is most likely happening. Crash turned out to be true, which we all pretty much figured, so I'm feeling pretty confident that Spyro's next.

The second rumor was a SXSW announcement, and that's right around the corner. Here's hoping Sonic's inevitable stream issues won't delay this announcement if it happens there.

And, once again, which fandom is left behind...?

I’m glad for some of today’s announcements (like Luigis’ Mansion’s remake or Super Smash Bros for Switch) but considering all the reveals which happened today I cannot help but feel bummed that nothing on Spyro has been said or officially teased.
I know it’s coming, and I’m happy Laura Kate Dale’s rumor is once again supported, but the curiosity of seeing it is becoming stressful.
Even some Twitter accounts are retracting what they said, now.

At least when it’ll come out it will be incredible, that’s for sure.

It's sort of a bummer, but there's plenty more time left in March for Spyro. :-) An announcement probably wouldn't have made much sense at a Nintendo event if it's not launching for Switch.

While, yeah, it's a bummer we don't have an announcement yet, in retrospect, it... kinda makes sense that they'd probably not want to announce Spyro right NOW, and risk having it be buried under all of the Nintendo hype going on today.

So next rough estimate for an announcement day is the 15th now, correct?

I'm pretty glad they didn't announce Spyro in a Nintendo direct, of all things (I'm really surprised they announced Smash in this direct, though I'm assuming its a port and not a new entry? I could be very wrong). I'm in no rush for the official announcement- can you imagine a Spyro reveal at the Sony E3 conference? The conference room getting dark, then the stage lights up purple, a nostalgic sound effect like maybe the 1 up from the first game or Sparx eating a butterfly or the words "thank you for releasing me?" or something along those lines, then they show us a trailer with gameplay of iconic levels like Tree Tops, hockey on Colossus, or Fireworks Factory? I can wait a few months for a reveal as awesome as that. But of course that Kotaku article said to expect a March announcement, so, unfortunately, I don't think we'll get anything that exciting. But I can always dream smilie

There’s also the SXSW mentioned by Bifrost, which starts tomorrow.
One thing I didn’t thought about is how Crash for Switch not only basically confirms Spyro’s remakes reliability but hopefully their announcement and release dates; so March is most likely still going to be our month.

Watching the Nintendo Direct actually made me discover even more games to get, so I cannot really complain after all.
Sorry if I brought a bit of negativity here, guys, in the end my disappointment was only caused by my easily excitable person. smilie

At least Spyro won’t have anyone stealing his show, hopefully.

I agree with that, i'm thinking GDC is more likely than anything else at this point in March.

ooh! on the roman numerals thing, some clocks actually use the iiii instead of the iv. there are theories as to why both are used, but no one is really sure. apparently it goes back to the sundials of long ago, lol. Toys for Bob and Iron Galaxy Studios are handling the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy ports, so VV has been free to do Spyro for about a year.

She mentioned that as well?
I mean, it’s a bit more predictable than the N. Sane Trilogy on the Switch, but it’s great to keep proving her to be more and more reliable.

So V.V. are indeed the true responsibles for Spyro’s remakes, even if it doesn’t exclude the possibility that TfB helped them just like they did for Crash.
Which also solves the mistery about what they have been doing for all this time.

Doing the math:

The N. Sane Trilogy was announced to go multi-platform 8 months after it appeared on PS4.

This means that Spyro would be announced in May of 2019 to go multi-platform (if the September release month is correct/assuming Activision would do the same for Spyro).

Yep, and then it’ll be one year for Crash and one for Spyro, hopefully.
We already got rumors regarding a new game for the orange marsupial in 2019, guess the dragon could re-return in 2020.
I’ll definitely buy future games for the PS4 anyway, if anything because of Trophies and the fact it’s still my main console for a number of reasons.

Anyway, one last bit of news before going to bed.
Resurrect Fortesque, one of the Twitter accounts who have been teasing all day long regarding the various announcements, actually revealed that the information he was holding back was a rumor regarding a “certain character being part of the new Super Smash Bros” to be revealed along with the game itself.
Since another user confirmed he wasn’t talking about Spyro I guess Crash is probably the best guess, especially due to him coming to the Switch.

What’s important though is how certain he sounds regarding Spyro’s remakes.
I’m inclined to believe him, seeing how he was so reluctant to share informations regarding a non 100% confirmed leak, but judge for yourselves:

https://mobile.twitter.com/Sav...929719078825984

Guess we really don’t need more confirmations regarding the legitimacy of the rumor, but it’s always good to hear other sources supporting it.

PS4 because it'll probably look a lot better on it, if Crash on Switch is any indication. I'll still get both it and Crash on Switch for the sake of playing them on the go, but PS4 is the best experience for me.

I agree. I don't have a ps4 yet, but this is probably going to be the reason I wind up getting one. I want to see Spyro in beautiful HD, and Nintendo... has never really been the master there. XD

i'll get switch later for pokemon, but I've always liked playstation, and that's how I played Spyro the first time! ^_^

I think now that the Crash remaster's coming to different systems, there won't be as much hype for a Spyro remake right now. If I were Activision, I'd be going mental with "N. Sane Trilogy's N. Abled on N.E System", wait a bit and then go nuts to the butts with all this Spyro stuff so people can focus their attention on that 100%. If that made sense. I could've worded that better.

Hate to agree with you, but I still cannot fully comprehend the value customers and industries give to certain things.

Call of Duty IIII and the N. Sane Trilogy going multiplatfom are certainly exciting for their own reasons, but I personally have no doubt a Spyro announcement or even simply a teaser from an official source would blow both out of the water (which now that I think about it may actually be the exact reason why they are holding it back for now).
Even considering Nintendo’s biggest announcement, Smash for Switch, I think the return of a long gone gaming icon still wins by a mile.

That being said I also do understand that this may actually be Activision’s way to give even more importance to Spyro’s comeback, by announcing it after all the other “minor” news.
Points of view, I guess. :/

^Here's one thing I thought of for why they would NOT wait for something like E3, and might do Spyro here in March like Laura said.

They might be intimidated by E3, feeling that Spyro might not hold up against other possible announcements? things like final fantasy, kingdom hearts iii, smash (probably), maybe Metroid 4, and a whole bunch of other big hyped titles are probably going to appear there, and they feel Spyro might be drowned out in all of the noise. even with the Nintendo direct and call of duty, they might still take there chances to get Spyro's hype outside of a major gaming event to assure people are paying attention.

I just thought of that as a possible thing. Motivation for the bummed out. ^_^

Those're some really neat animations, such a great find, Drek95! Bifrost raises some good points as well, and some of them might not have been possible in the final version due to censorship (if the word "kill" is replaced by "defeat" in text but not in audio, I doubt nose-picking with a spear is going to set a good example amongst the kiddies). I would love to see these in the remaster. smilie
