Can confirm, just came on to say that I found LIM at a VA ToysRUs. Was street dated for Dec 31 but they sold it to me because it was on the sales floor but went to pull the rest off the shelf.

Street dated for 12/31/17? That's not good. My store usually won't budge on street dated items, even if they have it on the floor.

Interesting, well that is certainly unexpected good news! Hopefully they get the Street Date sorted out and people can finish up their collections!
I wonder if they tried to hold out for a retail exclusive deal or something from TRU, then finally decided to ship it. Pretty much every Skylanders Facebook post no matter what it is about had people complaining about it. PS: It isn't Q4, it is Q3 right now and will be for a few more weeks, even longer if you are counting the "fiscal quarter". |

Oh, look.
They didn't alienate US customers by not allowing them to be able to purchase an Adventure Pack which contains both a unique level and an exclusive character. How surprising! Sarcasm aside, fingers crossed for the remaining Crystals to arrive worldwide as well.

I'll be checking over here in Idaho to see if my local Toys R Us has some. Hopefully Chompy Mage will get a more widespread release and not become our next Thrillipede. What is it with Life Skylanders not getting released!
EDIT: Tried calling my local store, but they didn't find anything on their CPU. It was rather slow, though, and the associate maybe didn't know how to spell 'Imaginite'. Think I should try and make the trip there? |

My store is super anal about street dates. They already put the stuff out that they could and wouldn't check for it. I'll see if I can get a different guy next time to check. It's my experience that they put stuff out a day after street date even, at least with Skylanders in 2017 that has been the case.

All of a sudden there are 7 sellers on Amazon with it for around $45 when there were none last night. I went ahead and bought one of those because I just do not feel lucky enough to get one for MSRP and $12 isn't that much of a big deal as I'll finally be done and over with my worries over it. I'll just skip eating out once this week.
Also I know from trying to get the 2017 My Little Pony Equestria Girls figures that I probably won't have any chance at it locally or for retail price online. Those figures only seem to appear on Amazon and Ebay and at marked up prices. Toy collecting has gotten crazy lately as it seems that anything in small supply is immediately snapped up and flipped by sellers hoping to make a dollar or two. Luckily prices never really seem to go down, so rare toys will stay rare for whenever I decide to get rid of them myself many years down the road.

Yeah, I don't regret spending a bit more a while back to import it. I've had the pack for a couple months, and getting it early had a price. Also, as good as the employees are at my TRU, they have never been willing/able to modify street dates - nor have I ever pushed because I'd rather they not get in trouble over something like that. It's a shame that the final hurrah they still managed to screw something up, despite finally coming through on this. I wonder if it was just a placeholder date for a print ad coming up and they intended to fix it then. |

Yep, when some private capital companies like Bain Capital (remember Mitt Romney's baby?) did a leveraged takeover, they made them restructure and take out a ton of debt in an attempt to take them private. This debt is causing the problems. They are decently profitable, but the crushing debt is what is coming due and crippling them. |

I've never indicated that, trust me, I'm not. I got this info from my dad. Somethings that contributed were likely inventory (With TtL can go into, but that also includes ALL toys), keeping big box stores up and running (Lights, air conditioning, toy delivery), profits against online competitors, local regulations in taxes and paying people who work in the stores.

I am in Texas and an hour and a half drive away from my nearest TRU, so I called and gave them the item number to see if they had any in stock to keep from wasting the trip. After initially being told that they had six in stock and would hold one for me, they came back and said that, nevermind, they were streetdated and the manager said they couldn't override it. Even after I told them that other TRU locations had been selling them despite the street date, it was a no go. At least I didn't drive up there and waste my time, but still ridiculous that it's even street dated at all considering it should've been released over a month ago.

Actually in your case, an hour and a half trip to the store would cost you more in gas than that $12 markup I had to pay. You may consider getting one online from an Amazon scapler as it would be cheaper and far less stressful in the long run, right?
