Wasn't the original idea to have vehicles as transforming backpacks that you could use in the main gameplay? That would have been so much cooler. And even then they still could have had optional little vehicle specific zones scattered throughout the game.

Yes, that was indeed the case.

Wow, that would've been awesome and also given less incentive for the weird everything-os-tech theme. Maybe rather than the requirement, have "Rift Disturbances" that are optional but could fix part of the level or transport you elsewhere the same way as Supercharger Gates.

Vehicles were also made to be optional means of transportation during stages, they even made a small video using footage from other games as examples, like Super Mario World, Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Grand Theft Auto.

So now with the series basically dead (at least for the moment), what are some of the things you wish they did? Nothing too big, like changing entire games - just some little things like roster choices or plot details.

I only have one: I wish they had 20 villains instead of 10. I would have added the rest of the Doom Raiders and then some others like Broccoli Guy, Chill Bill, Shield Shredder, Bomb Shell, etc.

Well at least I have time to get the remaining characters...

I probably would have liked smaller rosters. Unpopular opinion, I know, but Giants did it so well. Not that I didn't like the characters, especially Imaginators.

One thing I wished they did in every game was have the characters you play as have actual conversation with the NPCs. Everyone's just like "hey Skylander" or "Skylander do this" I know it would be hard to implement because of the large amount of characters, but it would be nice if the NPCs were like " hey stealth elf" or " pop fizz we need you to do this" or have the Skylander you play as respond to the people talking to them.

Oh man Driver Quests sold me so hard on that idea. It was such a great sensation to see Buzz actually hold a conversation depending on your Skylander, at least most of the time - Thrillipede was easily the best one because they were just having small talk like normal people. Probably too much VA work though, just like recording different names for anyone but the announcer.

I always wondered what happened when you tried other Skylanders. I could never bring myself to play anyone but Spyro first. I would've thought they'd have different lines for Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy so to make Spyro's something of an easter egg.

Alright, question. The Ebayers that are shipping Ro-Bow from the US and say that it's a pre-order item, are they importing it from elsewhere? They all say that it will be shipped within 30 days. Same with the seller I bought one from. Supposedly mine will be here early September. This person has no negative feedback from buyers so I'm assuming they eventually do get Ro-Bow shipped out. I'm just worried that I'm going to waste another month trying to get Ro-Bow only for it to be another bust after Amazon UK didn't work out.

Also the Oracle in Giants mentions whatever Skylander u enter the level with by name. So that was really cool

Yeah I replayed the level hundred of times just to hear him naming all the skylanders I own lol

The Oracle is heavily filtered, and I'm pretty sure he's the Announcer. No need to spend the VA money twice.

Wow. Today marks the record of the time I spent wondering over buying a Skylander and actually getting them. For 3 years, I was considering getting Smolderdash, finally caved and got her for super cheap. First and only Swap Force Skylander(not counting reposes) in my small collection at least for the time being.

But isn't Swap Force like your favourite? You've got all the toys, such as Cynder... uh... um... Cynder...

A Spyro remake isn't confirmed. HIHD was most likely speculating.

Edit:Found a transcript, it instead mentions giving new plataforms to franchises like the Skylanders mobile game. In fact, that seems to add to evidence that they're ditching TTL.

That was my take as well.

And then, of course, when (not if) the mobile game fails to perform to their expectations, Activision will bury the franchise the same way they did Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk.

And by failing to perform, they mean it'll be a really good game for mobile that they'll rekt with horribly marketing and little to no presence in any events, not to mention lack of support. You'd think the new owners of King would learn but since they're still riding the same games they had before...

We know how Activision works. There's another different cow to milk now, so brace yourselves for the remakes/remasters are coming. That's a good new since it's pretty obvious (at least for me) that the great classic franchise they're talking about is Spyro, and probably the game some of the TfB staff is making by using Unreal 4 is the Spyro remake. But that's mean Skylanders is no more one of the main cows, so... goodbye. They'll focus on merchandising and the TV series ("new ways to exploit it") and another side stuff like the mobile game, but the time of Skylands is over, now it's time to move on to the next moneymaker: remakes. And Call of Duty, obviously.

Well, we can't complain, we have 6 full games, more than 300 figures and different mobile applications, plus all the merchandising. It's all there for you.

That, and also that Acti's expectations are going to be unreasonable. They want Swap Force era profit without putting any effort into marketing (despite the fact that SF had pretty great marketing leading up to the release).
