As someone who has seen the N-Sane streams (more than one person has got it early), I can confirm its legitimacy.

Makes sense when you think about it. The game runs off the Skylanders engine, which Toys For Bob created in the first place. You would go to the creators of it for assistance, just the same as how VV went to the original developers of Crash for advice.

Skylanders uses an engine developed by VV which they updated significantly for Swap Force. VV developed the original Skylanders engine. They did not go to TfB for their engine expertise.

TT used TfB's engine, but I believe for the Xbox 360, PS4 and Wii U versions, the game was ported to VV's. It looked like a VV game, but also looked like a TfB game.

According to the Wired article that quotes Guha Bala, the engine even for those games was from VV as well. Which makes sense, TfB really aren't an engine developing company - very few developers make their own engine.

All Skylanders games on consoles use different iterations of the Alchemy engine originally created by Vicarious Visions.

SSA: Alchemy engine with Wii as main platform
SG: Alchemy engine from SSA with minor graphical updates
SSF: Built from scratch with an improved version of the Alchemy engine as X360/PS3 became main platforms instead of Wii
STT: Alchemy engine from SG with major graphical updates as X360/PS3 became main platforms instead of Wii
SSC: Same engine as SSF with a few graphical updates (ex: clouds in Cloud Kingdom https://youtu.be/zt3UVCYUxn8?t=3m27s)
SI: Same engine as SSC

Wait, didn't they say Alchemy was only used in SF foward? A big part of its initial marketing was "totally new engine called Alchemy! updating the franchise to next-gen!", not to mention VV was only on spinoffs when the franchise started.

It'd take a lot of digging to see thise E3/gamescon videos but I'm way too sure they insisted Alchemy was new and only for SF. I believe you two, I mean how they presented it to us years ago.

To be fair he doesn't exactly say it was specifically created for SWAP Force, but if anything it implies it was not used before for any Skylanders game.

I'm guessing what the presenter meant is that the Alchemy engine was fully upgraded/remade to meet X360 and PS3 graphical standards.

I don't think LIM will go unreleased, but I have a hunch they're stalling it until the fall to artificially extend Skylanders' run. It's possible LIM is the Q4 adventure pack. If that's the case, I'll have to import soon.

Extend it for what purpose? So even LESS people want to buy it? That makes no sense at all. I think you are just stretching here for something that tries to fit what you want to believe.

The problem here is stores do not want to stock more Skylanders. I went in Best Buy and Target today and they barely have anything at all anymore. Retail is done with Skylanders.

That absolute BEST chance of it getting released is a low stock short window at TRU, if anything. And they have majorly cut back on the Skylanders as well. They were literally giving away FOUR Skylanders with the purchase of ONE recently. That is not what a store does when they want to get in more stock.

Waiting until October dies seen stupid if that's what they mean by fourth quarter.

What do we do now?

Seems like Skylander slowly fading with those sale special like DI

I should have mentioned that I m not in the usa but in the netherlands. Everything is released here now. Exept green chompymage.

I bit the bullet and imported LIM, since it was the last thing I really wanted. Now I don't have to worry about this franchise eating my mom's wallet anymore! ...unless they come out with a gimmick too good to resist. But that's unlikely to happen for at least a while, since we haven't heard anything about a Skylanders 7 so far. Honestly, it's fine for me either way. If there are more console games, something good might come out of it. If they stop making games, then that's a big weight off of everyone's wallets. Plus, maybe the company could focus on making more Spyro games, and that would be pretty awesome! For now, though, I'll focus on getting enough money put aside for a Switch. There's so many great-looking games coming to that thing!

EDIT: Changed "there would be a chance Spyro could have his own games again..." To "maybe the company will focus more on making more Spyro games." A brain fart made me connect the two franchises... Sorry, everyone!

I've said it a million times and I'll keep saying it. Skylanders having games or not isn't a requirement for Spyro, Acti made that up on the first year to get people to stick to Skylanders. Because of Guest Stars, they have the perfect reason to get him solo games again at any point they want, so much he's getting that official (but non-Skylanders) Classic figure sometime in the future.

Everything as far as Senseis, but concerning the remaining Crystals, the whole SkyLanders world waits for them.

Use a high level Light Imaginator. The boss is the only thing that is really a problem for time, as he spends lots of time behind his shield. You want to do as much damage as possible when it is down. I did the level in 10:30 with a level 59 Light Bazooker. You can also do the first part of the level with a Tech Skylander, but it isn't all that slow to do anyways.

I did with a level 59 life ninja, with the most speed boosting gear I had. I just spammed mines at the boss, then spammed attack 1 where you throw you weapons all around. The boss was dead in seconds.

I just got LIM, haven't played it yet, but trust me, no speed run in Skylanders was tougher than the future of Skylands in TT on nightmare.

It isn't "tough" in terms of any challenging action or anything, it is just the last boss that spends most of the fight with a shield up and when it goes down it doesn't stay down for long. And it can be fairly random, he might pound the ground many times or just a couple between rounds of vulnerability. Eleven minutes is already pretty short and a close call, it only gets worse when the RNG decides to screw you.

Nevermind the boss at the end is worse than the sea monster and the time trial on nightmare is worse than Wolfgang.

Oh yeah, I also lucked out and got Bad Juju and Buckshot. Now I just need (in order of priority)

Blaster Tron
Pain Yatta
Grave Clobber
Tidepool

10:30 with a Light Bazooker Imaginator. The fight against the boss is a Light area, good for doing extra damage since his shield window is so short.

Ok my plan if I don't get the time by thursday or something is to get my friend to join in on the boss fight. I'll use my Light Ninja and Dark Smasher At the same time.

I'm in the UK so I may be getting LIM very soon. It's actually really sad because this is probably the last release ever...

My Sir Hoodington is around Level 60 and has the Fire Dash attack, so he could get through it pretty fast.

I used a ninja Imaginator, spammed mines, and then spammed the attack one where you throw the weapons all around you. The fight was literally over in seconds. You should also put whatever gear gives you the highest speed stat, and then putting the highest attack boosting gear on for the boss. I'd also suggest putting it on easy mode if you're having a lot of trouble.

I got it in 10:35.

Screw you and your better times.

My strategy:
Use Aurora up until the robot in front of the entrance to the mine
Switch to RO BOW and use his Soul Gem to beat the robot
Switch back to Aurora until the Earth Zone
Switch to Tri-Tip and fight everything
Switch to my Fire Imaginator to get to the Imaginite
Go through the majority of the Light Zone with my Light Ninja
Maybe use Sky Chi on enemies in the way
When I get to the Boss, I used my Dark Smasher
She has the axe attack with the shock waves and the Berserker abilities
When the bombs come down, attract them to you while standing next to the boss.
Hope for the best.

The best way to deal with the bombs on the boss is to use the magnet in repel mode and stand on the bottom left or right edge as it starts to fall and it will push it into him right away without a chance of it hitting and damaging you (don't use attract). The bombs always drop left first, then right, then left, etc. Stay in the approximate area until the bomb drops, once it explodes move to the other side.

Checked tracking and my LIM just arrived at the post office sorting facility in the next town over about 2 hours ago, so I should finally be getting it tomorrow. @_@

Welp, I finally bit the bullet and imported after hearing so much about Ro-Bow. I love strategic characters so much!

Noticed that on ebay right now there's a Lost Imaginite Mines going for $30 + $11 shipping in USD. I'm wanting to snag the chance to get it, but who knows? LIM could still release soon, so why not save a few bucks? Should I bid on this AU LIM?
