Heck, they even put Hot Steak in Skystones in Superchargers. Half the time it would go "Screw this" and go over to the other side of the board.

The point of that card... er, stone... (whatever, it was dumb) was that it would cause the board to "sizzle," which in this case means randomly move a couple stones around the board.

So sometimes it would shift your opponents' stones into your slots, other times it would move your stones into theirs (leaving you screwed most times), and sometimes it would just move from one slot to another on the same side of the board.

I was not a fan of that particular Skystone, but SuperChargers had the worst implementation of Skystones in any Skylanders game, so I played it as little as humanly possible.

I actually enjoyed Skystones in SSC. It was the only one that gave me any challenge. Oh well, agree to disagree I suppose.

Yeah, to be fair, I haven't really liked ANY of the Skystones games. Trap Team was probably the best, and Imaginators is basically the same thing with static hands per game (rather than building your own hand from collected tiles).

But none of them have been difficult so much as they are tedious. Even SuperChargers, with its random deck draws, wasn't hard... it was just annoying when your best cards/stones/whatever wouldn't get pulled. "Random" isn't hard, and it's also not very fun.

The most satisfying Skystones match I ever had was when I finally beat Tessa in Imaginators... but even that only required challenging her over and over again until she finally didn't put her overpowered starting tile in the middle of the board.

Trap Team looked bad and barely had any depth. At least SC introduced more concepts and strategy to fill the board with fodder, but it relied WAY too much on RNG, like the Hot Steak, the Kaos cards, or the random damage AOEs. Sometimes I could get a fun game with struggles on both sides, sometimes the guy would deal damage to me directly AFTER healing and there was nothing to do about it. Battlecast is much better about this, but that game's super dead and wasn't implemented in consoles, as cool as that would've been.

I feel like what Trigger Happy says in The Golden Arcade could have become a meme. "I came to let you in. But then I got into this balloon instead!"

Same , the closer to an actual strategy card game like the SC version the better. It actually required some thought and strategy . Skystones in imaginators going back to the exact "classic version" that was Giants is pretty uninspired.

Giants/TT3DS aren't exactly bad, but they had nowhere to go. Once you get Conquertron and Axecutioner you're done and will probably win every game. Dunno about the 3DS one though, I always assumed it had mostly identical stones until I discovered on the wiki it added tons of new ones.

I've been checking online stock in and off for Tidepool in Californian Targets so I can get her during my vacation, but of course, the day I arrive I decide to finally check again and every store near Santa Monica is sold out! Tough luck today... Guess I'm off to Amazon.

Go to the Kannapolis Target off 85 exit 54. They had plenty as of recently along with Blaster-tron.

Both the Targets I frequent in Durham (near South Point and off 15/501) were restocked on Tidepool a week or so ago and still have a few. They're out of Blaster-Tron, though.

Conversely, the one in Brier Creek has Blaster-Tron, but no Tidepool. Haven't checked any of the other Raleigh stores in over a week.

I think he's just referring to how most people are overreacting to the leaked images and how the debates as to whether they're real or not have gotten kinda out of hand.

No infos about future Imaginators content would not only debunk the leaks, but also make me extremely skeptical about any potential future ones.

I'm hoping that if Skylanders dies, Spyro comes back.

At least it would be something good coming out of a bad situation.

well there is still academy, which we all know that it will be a little harder for activision to get rid of.

You know, as bad as it may sound, I would totally accept the end of the franchise if it were the only way to bring back Spyro to his classic glory.

I do think it isn't necessary, both can coexsist since the Skylanders' character is most likely not the same, but they might pull out some stupid excuses to explain it.
Let's hope they can manage to keep them both going; would also be a great way to shut up "fans" about how this series killed him.

I'd be mixed about Skylanders dying if Spyro came back. In one way, Skylanders, a franchise that has meant everything to me for years, would be gone, but at the same time, Spyro would be back, meaning a lot of people, including myself, would be happy.

I still hope that an HD Spyro Trilogy happens, so maybe I can have hope for my Spyro Sensei theory

Yep, Hunter and Ripto would probably be the best choices, and Elora could be an NPC in a AP level. Gnasty Gnorc and/or the Sorceress could be the villain of said AP level.

I wouldn't. Speaking as someone who was an adult (read: man-child) when the first Spyro game came out, Skylanders is a better franchise.

Spyro was fine mind you... Skylanders is just deeper, more marketable (there's a playable character to be had for damn near everyone, regardless of your feelings on purple dragons), and benefits from an extra decade of evolved game development practices.

I don't care for Spyro nearly as much as for Skylanders, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to see him back. Skylanders had a good run and I think it's not all that tragic to see it go, as much as I want it to keep up. It's business I guess.

I have to admit I basically can't think about any objective reason why Activision would want to prefer Spyro over Skylanders: not nearly as requested as Crash, still exsists within the other franchise and all the various motivations you gave above.
Which is why I'm hoping for them to coexsist.

Yet I constantly ask myself: yeah, remaking Crash is cool, the gameplay is still quite moder and can only improve with recent technology... but Spyro...?
Huge completely explorable 3D worlds which already looked stunning on the PS1, tons of gameplay variety in the last two titles but most importantly a lot more cut content than Crash.

All of that makes me wonder if it wouldn't be simply cool and amazing if they remade the original trilogy with all the technical improvements possible and expanded all the games to make them how the developers originally intended them to be.
I think it definitely would.
